Just stumbled across an article on Yahoo where a man took a picture of a mother breast feeding in a T. G. I. Fridays with her child's mouth being the only thing to cover her breast. While I disagree with his sneaky, passive aggressive form of addressing the situation, I do think he has a point considering there were children at that restaurant. It's fine if you want to breastfeed in public, but forcing someone else's child to take note of that activity and taking away their right to explain what's going on as they please is straight up entitled, rude, and disrespectful, in my opinion. I don't agree that you should have your titty hanging out while people are trying to eat. Especially considering that there is an online community of people who fetishize breastfeeding. There is an alarming amount of pornos with grown adults drinking breast milk, getting sprayed with breast milk, and doing all types of perverted activities involving breast milk more or less exploiting the intimate act. That is another reason why I will not be breastfeeding in a room full of strangers unless I absolutely have no choice. What do you think? There is nothing wrong with breastfeeding in public but if I'm out to dinner, I don't want to see some random stranger's boob and nipple because she is so ridiculously entitled that literately the only people in the room she considers are herself and her baby. -_-

I have no problems with breastfeeding in public so long as the mom makes an effort to cover up. I personally wouldn't be comfortable doing that in public so freely. I feel like it's an intimate bond with you and your baby. I've seen women just whip it out without even trying to cover up. And then they get upset when others are uncomfortable as if they have no right to be uncomfortable.

Breastfeeding has always and will always be around. I just feel like it's being glorified with all the magazine covers and people going out of there way to post online pictures online. It's becoming a spectacle. It's less about actually feeding the baby and more about trying to prove a point.

As for the tit being out, u do not care either way, but I can easily see why people would want the child covered.

If it was my child I would encourage my wife to be discreet.

Also, if a women if flaunting her breastfeeding in a grab for attention, then that would become bothersome, but that is rare and I have only experienced that once.

Its a good point but the difference is that one is a small issue of feeding a baby the other is a smelly hygiene issue. In my local area breast feeding is the norm, u walk into a restaurant or cafe and there might be three or four mothers breastfeeding and nobody bats an eyelid. It all started when breast feeding mothers held sit in protests in a local cafe and it has normalised breast feeding in public in our town. Its not a problem in africa or European countries so I can't see the big deal myself. But thats only my opinion hope u dont mind me posting in your opinion.

If girls exposing breast in public is illegal, than breastfeeding is illegal. You have to get it out and then you have to get it back in, and while breastfeeding it is probably visible too, and it just feels inappropriate even if it is totally covered. Everybody knows whats going on when a woman is breastfeeding. And I find it to be a very intimate thing that should be kept in a private setting not mingle it with the public outside where certain social norms are expected.
Simply GET BABY FORMULA IN A BOTTLE before you leave the house, so there are no excuses that the baby was very thirsty, or the baby was going to die, etc.

I think that those women need to get over themselves and realize the world doesn't revolve around them and their baby. If I am out with my niece or children, I don't appreciate some entitled woman pulling out her breast so the whole room can see. Feed your child but cover up. I didn't say there was anything wrong with breastfeeding in public: I said I don't appreciate being out to eat with my children and a woman literately having her breast out at a table for everyone in the room to see while we are trying to have a meal. I personally find it inappropriate when a woman's breast is exposed. I don't want to drink my morning coffee or eat lunch forced to look at someone's breast and baby attached to it. If you have to breastfeed, don't expose your breast or go to the restroom, or even better pump milk at home and bottle feed baby with it in public
