Do you have blue eyes? Did you know that we all descend from one person?

Mine are Green:
About 2% of people have green eyes so it's no wonder that some interesting associations have flourished around the eye color. Here is a list of some of the perceptions surrounding green eyes.
Green eyes are said to be magical.
People with green eyes tend to have long lasting relationships.
People with green eyes are the most passionate.
Green-eyed people are jealous, as in the saying "green with envy".
Green-eyed people may have liver or other digestive problems.
Green eyes are a powerful aphrodisiac.
People with green eyes are very inventive.
People with green eyes act spontaneously
People with green eyes are perceived as less trustworthy than blue or brown eyes.
Green eyed people can be more provacative.
Green eyed people are strange!
Didn't catch that bit when I was reading about my eyes. Good to know. Also I rather enjoyed your conversation with the 18yr old, two posts down from me. This bit made me laugh a lot "Well besides that point, even through evolution we would have had to start from two people. There's no theory of life out there that involves a bunch of people plopped out on the earth. All of them start small"
i do have blue eyes. I just wear dark contacts because the effect blue eyes would have in combination with my overall sculpted face would be a little overbearing for me to handle. Women can turn into aggressive deviants when they want something desperate enough
you my friend are most welcome
thanks for mho!
i dont have blue eyes but that's pretty awesome.
that girl is gorgeous omg.
read about that when i was researching dna. very interesting topic.
thank you ♡

Mine used to be blue but TURNED green. Goddammit.
My son's are blue. One time last winter, I took him to a museum out in the country, and put one of my navy knit caps on him to keep his noggin warm. The lady who ran the museum saw him and said, "His eyes are as blue as his hat."
Mine can change too, from grey to blue to green. Well, actually our eyes aren't any of these colours and our iris's actually lack any blue, green or grey pigment in them. The colour is an absence of pigment so I've read, but to me it would make sense as to why I've heard so many people say their eyes change from blue to green. I also think that what you are stood around makes a big difference, or what you are wearing as your son was. If I wear blue my eyes look very blue, if I wear green they look pale green and when I used to die my hair pillar box red by eyes looked like vampire eyes... all washed out faded blue. So weird how colour can change with other colours.
By the way, green eyes are the most uncommon apparently, just 2% of the population have them.
Haha! I don't have red hair now though, they aren't quite as intense as Meg's :)
Today they are pretty boring and not really any colour specifically...

Great photo. Not boring. :) I can see how they would be intense with red hair.
Took my son to a hardware store today and they were selling an elaborate, animatronic "witch" figure for Halloween which looked alarmingly like a petite Meg Foster. :) He wasn't scared--he has apparently not really internalized fear like that yet--which was great. And she talked! "I'm the woman your mother warned you about. Hehehehehehe!!!"
That is hilarious and straight up, legit terrifying, pulling back that foil and seeing that girl, the expression. . . I mean. . . what better for Halloween? :)
I--put THAT in italics!--I am the one scared of Meg Foster! The witch was a little unnerving but he loved it because she had like an LED wand with rainbow colors, her eyes lit up, etc. I would honestly be more reluctant to have a large Meg Foster poster in his room, next to the dinosaurs and Pooh and stuff.
Well, Megan Fox, I wouldn't be opposed to. Maybe an odd parenting decision though, to have this on my son's wall before age 2:

I'm kidding about Meg, though. (Both "Megs" do have similar eyes!) Meg is one of her generations greatest actresses. The eyes are entrancing. My boy is too young. :)
My mother had brown eyes and her parents had brown eyes
My father had blue eyes and his parents had blue eyes
I have grey/green eyes

I have no idea wtf happened here.
Well technically, we're all descendants from some of the very first amoebas among the masses of the early/young earth.
So yeah, from one "person" ^.~
Yep. The devil. Blue eyes are the mark of evil.
And if it is combined with curly hair, and lefthanded-ness you are clearly a twisted user of dark magics.
Naturally I have dark brown eyes, like any sensible person :p
nope i have green eyes...
never bothered to google it so just did... it appears green eyes come from german/celtic ancestry... do they have a common ancestor as well?
do u have any idea where dark brown hair/green eyes/white skin (fuckin hate da latter one...) r comin from?
I have just briefly read up, very briefly mind, and it seems that blue and green eyes are similar in that they are not blue or green but actually an absence of pigment, which makes me think they must be quite close genetically. Blue eyes are common in northern Europe along with the blonde hair. How can you be unhappy with dark hair and green eyes? That's a killer combo!
i mean black light (uv light)...

Yes, but not all UV black lights will tan you. There are two types of UV it seems, see here for a brief description:

I have brown eyes. My brother got his blue eyes from our mother, who got hers from her father, who got his from his father, etc. But brown eyes are dominant in my family, my sister, dad and I have it, and almost all of my dad's side has it (except his mom, who had green eyes).
But that was a cool tidbit!
Yes i do have blue eyes and my dad has brown eyes , mom had blue eyes

Wow cool blue eyes. I have blue eyes too so we must be related
Yes, I do have blue eyes but I didn't know this information. That article was very interesting to read :)
Well, technically we are all descended from one common ancestor...
No matter what colored eyes you have, we were still a descended from one (well, two) people
The Bible says we all came from one woman and one man.
Geneticists say we all came from one woman, jury is still out on the man/men issue - last I checked.
So, when it comes to there being a first woman, for all of us, can we not agree on this one single thing - especially since the Bible and science already seem to?
The fact that it is in the Bible should not be automatic proof that it is wrong, @GirlScout.
No black/brown eyes for me. Which some say are more mysterious since no one can see the pupils dilating unless you're under a lot of light. No idea about ancestry, though.
I have blue eyes but whatever mutation led to having blue eyes was not likely localized to a single person.
I do have blue eyes, but i don't think that's true, because neither my mom or my dad have blue eyes. My uncle does though.
I do have blue eyes, but aren't we all descended from common ancestors regardless of our eye colour?
It is cool :)
We're descended from a little black girl? Wow that's amazing.
That actually makes sense since usually only Europeans have blue eyes.
Maybe I wasn't clear in my wording. Europeans have much higher rates of having blue eyes than do other ethnicities. I came across a map when I was double checking.
Nope... Big black irises... like most people in Asia.
nope, mine are greenish but have some blue elements
i have dark brown eyes, i wonder if anybody has that in common with me xD
