Why do girls like taciturn guys?

I have heard girls say taciturn guys turn them on. I am just curious what it is with those guys you like so much?

Typically, this is for more immature girls. Taciturn guys seem mysterious and closed, so girls consider it a challenge to get him to open up. Basically, it's for the ego boost of being able to say "I'm special enough that I managed to open up the taciturn guy". The same thing applies to trying to fix the bad boy, it's a challenge to undertake.

I don't think that mature girls go for that "dark, mysterious edge" quite like less mature ones do. They'd rather go for someone more open and good natured (i.e. good for children). This is my impression, anyway.
