Why was the Pokemon jinx considered racist?

Question

So when Pokemon first came out therr was a Pokemon named jinx 
so I see how this could be racist if it was made by Americans we have a history of racism in this county but this is a Japannesse product inspired by ganguro , a Japanese fashion where women tan heavily, bleach their hair, and apply large amounts of makeup, instead of a black stereotype. Japain never had any Jim Crow laws they never had a culture of being racist to black so how can anyone call this racist it wasn't made in the United States they had no idea of black face Jim Crow in Japan it was based off of ganguro which was a part of there culture so how is it racist?

Lol @Japan never had a history of being racist to black people. Japan is *very* racist and has actively been racist to anyone who's not them for a *very* long time.  The pokemons name is also Jynx. Not jinx.  The Pokemon isn't based on ganguro. It's blackface and offensive. Deal with it.

Not everyone knows that. To most, that would appear to be a black stereotype, people wouldn't be aware of Japanese fashion. They changed it to avoid the confusion because some cultural things do not translate well universally.

But not everyone in America knows that without looking it up. To them it would look like they're trying to take a stab at blacks. Hence the reason jynx was changed to purple to avoid that.

The race card doesn't need much of an excuse to get played, as this example illustrates. It is usually a gambit for power and not based on logic.

you know what man, i watched pokemon all my life and played the games too and never in my entire life have i seen something racist about pokemon or a racist pokemon and now suddenly this pokemon which by the way belongs to the first 150 is racist now? people are just searching all over the place to find things that they think is racist while its not.
