Engineering is definitely one of the biggest sausage-fest majors (I would know, I'm in it). The people in it are usually very smart people, but a lot of engineers do not have much girlfriend (or sometimes even female) experience. Some girls find the lack of experience to be off-putting, and some find it good because a smart guy with no experience is going to be easy to teach. Obviously, this doesn't apply to all of them, so take that with a grain of salt.
The degree itself, however, is a very good one, because engineering jobs are never in short supply and tend to make about 55-72k fresh out of college. Most females consider job security to be an important factor in a long term relationship, so that's always a plus.

im a civil engineer and granted while in university you will not have a social life but after that you'll be pretty much set for life (money wise) now what's left is love life

theres this one university (an engineering school) I heard about where its 8 guys for every one girl and all the guys are fresh off the boat so yea
finding a blonde girl there is near impossible
Engineering is a really difficult major I hear.
I have friends who tell me it's exceedingly harder than medical school, which I can almost believe seeing as engineers have to fully commit to the math and sciences.
I think of an extremely intelligent person. Not necessarily nerdy. And it is true that mechanical engineers, once completed with school make good money.
Chances are that girl, whom you now hate and want nothing to do with, is ignorant and immature.

It doesn't matter what his career goals are, I would be happy if a guy had some sort of career goal and he showed determination and a good ethic, I look at personality and other factors. Not all students who go into science or engineering are smart, some fail. So, I don't hate or like guys who are in engineering, I look at his personality (aka honesty, ethics, treats me good) more so than what academic stream he is in. Hope that makes sense.
I would love you not your job! I would be impressed that your going into a difficult field. I'd actually probably want to get to know you because unlike that previous girl many educated individuals will appreciate a guy who is going to school and doing something he enjoys if anything its a turn on. And if its any consolation I am going to be a history major and MANY people think that it's boring.

i would think "wow.. you must b really smart" and that would b really attractive to me because I'm pretty smart myself.. I can't handle guys, or people in general, who are idiots...
Without them we would be stuck in stone age.
My impression: guy is damn good in math (and similar science), and can hold heavy responsibility for what he's doing.

Don’t let others place a stereo typical label on your for being an engineer. Dare to be different than a ‘typical’ nerdy engineer.
