It's a good Engineering discipline, I have my B. A. In Civil and Master's in Mechanical. I had a very easy time of getting a job with my state's Department of Transportation, where I am working at getting into bridge and structure preservation. Think aging bridges and structures, keeping them repaired and structurally sound.

My boyfriend is mechanical engineer
My first ever boyfriend was one too.
I don't understand how I end up with them 🤣
But they're smart
Horny. Weird. Robotic. They don't behave like humans with emotions. They talk like a computer AI.
It is amazing and extremely satisfying to be able to make things that work in the end, and don't break. Needless to mention my professional background :D /// The job would be even more rewarding if customers and financial people were not allowed on the scene.
better at math than i was. i dropped the engineering track after 4th semester of calc., before all the other advanced courses.
there's great earning potential in it as long as you can get into a company with deep pockets.

I'd like to see people's response. I'm majoring in mechanical engineering.
It's a great field. They are need for both industrial, commercial and infrastructure. A civil engineer gives you the over all perspective to apply you other skills.
It's a fantastic discipline, but I wish I had gone either electrical or systems instead. Those guys get jobs handed to them much easier.
I love the stuff I learn though, so there's that.As a CNC machinist. I consider them my brethren. 😊
I think they need to be taught the book is seldom right and what is possible in a classroom is not always possible in the field.
im doing civil and mining rn but we carry some traits of mechanical eng which i personally can't stand lmao. But they're good for society like most engineers
Hard working people
I'm engineering aspirant as wellI feel bad for the girl in the mechanical engineering class!
Its a great career. I'm split between mechanical, industrial and aeronautic.
I have a lot of respect for them
They get involved in some extremely interesting and important work, however, from my experience they tend to have poor understanding of things that are not engineering (like law or finance).
The ones with degrees are a joke. Im in college, took classes learned how much of a joke it really is. Learned more myselfe.
I think its amazing!! Very knowledgeable!!
I have never thought about that job. I don't think about jobs usually. I don't care about that
