Why does it take a guy a week to reply to a text?

I hooked up (sex) with a guy 2 weeks ago. He texted me later that day asking if I got home OK. I replied to that text and asked him a question, it took him 2 days to reply to the question. Now it takes him a week to reply to a text. He usually initiates the texts. I only texted him first once. In my most recent reply to the text he initiated, I asked him if I could cook dinner for him one day. Its been a week and I am still waiting for a response.

I guess my questions are:

Is he just not that into me?

Why did he initiate contact?

Is he playing a game?

Is he really that busy?

How can I get him to text me sooner?

He might be playing games or actually busy. It's hard to tell. But I hate when guys use the "busy" excuse, because it takes a few seconds to text someone, so you can't really be too "busy" to text someone. He could actually just not be that interested in talking to you, unless it's to hook up. But he might be texting you first because he wants to keep you around so he has to be "friendly" towards you. He thinks texting you randomly will make you remember him, but once you respond, he probably doesn't feel like he has to do anything else and that's why he takes such a long time to respond. I had a thing with this guy that was similar to your situation.

If you want him to text you back faster, I would say play some games of your own. Maybe play hard to get and don't respond to his texts or take a long time to reply like he does. He'll realize that you have other things going on, he's not the only priority in your life and realize he has to be more attentive.
