Is it okay for a girl to be forward?

But not in an obsessive or pushy way. Not to where she seems desperate.

I just mean is it alright for a girl to be the one who texts more...as long as the guy is responding & writes first sometimes. He knows that I like him, I don't hide it...but we've been best friends for four years and we are in an agreement as to where we are with each other.He's not just some guy and we like each other. I'm just more talkative than the average person and even around his friends, he's social...but not much into talking. He told me not to stop talking to him, that he never doesn't want to talk to me... just not to get upset when he doesn't write back all the time. Is it okay if I call him sometimes? Or text him sometimes?

People just seem to say, that a girl shouldn't try at all...that it should JUST be the guy.Like it's some rule in the game of dating. If not, then he's not that interested in you. But I think the effort should be shared. Or am I wrong?

uhh it really depends. I know for me that I suck at making the move (as many guys do) and really appreciate it when a girl is forward.. but not over the top. if you know the guy isn't the smoothest, then you should be more forward. and even smooth guys probably appreciate it? I wouldn't know :)

being friends for 4 years is a separate issue though.. still, better to try then to have regrets. life is too short.

Well we weren't 'just friends' it's a very long complicated story. But we've been interested in each other since the day we met. We love each other very much. never attempted to date because it wasn't the right time in our lives.
