Why do Europeans hate Turks?

Every European I've spoke to (from uk to Spain, Greece, Finland, Estonia, Poland etc) has told me that turkey is a nasty country & it feels like they absolutely hate it.

Why's that? I know some Turks and they might smell a bit bad but they seem nice people.

They hate them because they're filthy

They hate them because they're brown

They hate them because they're not Europeans

They hate them because they killed Syrians

They hate them because of their president

They hate them because of the Turkish immigrants/people of Turkish heritage

First of all, Turkish people here in the Netherlands are overrepresented in crime and generally support Erdogan. A leader that called us fascists and Nazi remnants, but now comes crying at the door of Europe to improve ties.

Turkey is culturally and politically opposed to Europe in many regards and we are also going in different directions where Europe is going in a European, democracy direction while Turkey is going more in the dictatorship and religious extremism direction.

@Befooker I know but i only know because of another Turkish user on the site. In the netherlands they are so similar its hard to tell the difference as they all hang out with the same friends and adopt each others bad behavior as there is little to none parental supervision since other then there own countries in Europe people on the streets can easily do what they please without comment because many citizens are to scared to say something about it.
