I used to believe this was totally wrong before I worked in a male donated career. I now kinda believe its slightly ture but only because society makes it easier for men. Men usually strive in the working world because they constantly fight to get more and more by working harder. They can put marriage and children on the back burner for a while till they get were they need into be in their career.
@Sjeggy women are expected to get married and have babies instead of focusing on a career, most generally prefer it that way. Men don't usually have to think about that type of stuff and can just focus on work and succeeding
Well from what I've experienced at work I've always had to ask to do overtime or have certain opportunities at work whilst all the men are automatically given it without asking. They don't expect me to want to reach higher and rather have me do the cleaning and making tea for everyone whilst the "men do the real work". Unfortunately I work in a very sexist workplace which I'm aware is very rare in others work these days. I'm simply just talking about my own personal experiences. I constantly get told I probably won't be able to stay in my career once I have a family without me even mentioning wanting a family (I do want a family) it the fact they expect because of them reasons I wouldn't be able to have successful career so don't give me a chance.
Physical strength is how we are designed, that's not a privilege. A privilege is something you are allowed to get or do, such as you get away or things you're not required to do that others are.
@kaewk You're right. But I think when we're saying things like 'male privilege' it's more aimed at societal factors rather than natural factors that people have no control over.
No, you are not born with privileges, those are features. Privilege is something given to you or a right to something. Once privilege is removed you no longer have access to it. But females are born beautiful and beautiful is strength all in its own class. Beautiful is very powerful, just ask the guys. Beauty can be very intimidating to guys and it is it really is.
It depends on how you look at things. Wage gaps aren't really a thing, but there are places where guys clearly dominate in certain industries. Of course, if you were a woman going for the same job in male-dominant areas, you could get hired, but the same thing applies vice-versa. Women can get hired in engineering jobs just as easily as guys can be hired as teachers. However, there are societal stereotypes that play a role in our world, so it could be a factor.
Depends. For example if you live in America or Europe It is a myth. If live in a muslim country it isn't a myth cause there men are considered as superior
i am a man and i can assure you that 90% of the women i know are way more privileged than me, icant even begin to describe what i need to be or need to have to even have a slight chance at competing with them... iam expected to make lots of money to get a decent wife , never met a girl who had to make a lot of money to marry a decent guy
No it's not a myth, it's just massively (like almost all perceived privilege) overblown and over thought. Every race and both genders have some sort of privilege that the others don't, whether they see it as such or not!
Yes it is, Women in US have it made. They can work or not work. They can kill their child. They can not work for 5 years and it is not held against them.. They have special laws protecting them. They get the children in a custody fight 99% of the time. When there is a fire , they get out first. All the commercials on TV are for them.. Soap operas are made for women. When they commit a crime they are rarely sentence more than 5 years.
@7Roses I’m not complaining. I don’t really care about who’s in office as long as we’re not on some Handmaid’s Tale bullshit 😂 (if you don’t know what that is, please look it up) My point is you issues are not with women, it’s with the men who have made up the rules that do not work in your favor. by the way, I hate soap operas. And there are plenty of media outlets for men. Most action movies are catered to the male demographic, so why are you complaining about boring tv shows that no one watches (excepts for older women)?
@BluesheepOwl omg yes, lawd knows I’d be the first one they’d start killing because I would not be able to do it 😂😂😂 I’d be flipping people off and fighting all the time.
@Ellie-V Even if they take one of your eyes? When they kill you they hang you. It isn't a quick death. They want you to suffer for not wanting to be raped
The main privilege of being a male is not having to worry about sexual harassment and assault. Also men can more often feel secure that people are genuinely interested in us, not just trying to sleep with us. I don't believe in the gender wage gap as a problem though. We should just encourage women to work more science and tech jobs because the more competition we have in those fields, the better results we will see.
Men only see women as an object they can use for their benefit and pleasure. Women are a man’s property so naturally they receive less. Like how a cow belongs to the farmer. If the cows rebel, the farmer says he doesn’t know what they’re talking about. All farmers treat cows that way, so it’s normal. All men treat women that way, so it’s normal.
@Partywithtom Then spare girls and don’t date. The world needs less “man children” anyway. I make plenty of my own money and buy what I want myself. If my boyfriend wants to treat me, it’s not necessary, but it’s a nice gesture. It makes him stand out against the rest of the world. There are plenty of minimal-effort, lazy men who don’t want to make a girl feel cared about. And that’s okay. They just should be asexual because no girl will want them.
There are nice men out there, but I’m referring to people like you who have the emotional maturity of a 12 year old and didn’t have a positive male role model growing up, so they live seeking validation from other men and disregard women.
As a "minimal-effort, lazy" guy there are girls that are interested. Also in a good relationship both take ownership and care for one another. If not then it's just two people that are close to one another but don't care for each other then it's meaningless. You're getting caught losing one argument then changing it meanwhile unnecessarily insulting your opponent. That's very poor arguing and you should work to improve that if you plan on voicing opinions that are unpopular with anyone (which is someone everywhere)
In western socioty today id say it most a detriment... but yes male privilege is a myth.
The people who made it up are just trying to make others feel bad to get ahead in life. Not that I blame them but it doesn't change the fact their parasites.
@burntgold I've been called a rapist by feminist, all men have be called that b them and I have never raped anyone. Do you think you might possibly be getting lies, indoctrinated?
Well some feminists are stupid and ignorant that’s why they say things like that. Personally, I wouldn’t call any guy a rapist unless he actually is one.
@burntgold The problem with feminism is, if you got one lie, then the question is, how many lies are you getting. And I can tell you, you're getting loads of lies lots and lots of them.
@burntgold Thank god for that. And I hope you don't believe any of the lies they're spreading about men either. Feminist want women to hate men, truth.
@burntgold You are right, but it gets deeper than that, feminist push for laws that target and oppress men and get them too. Not only that they want women to believe that men hate them. Feminism is Marxism in a nutshell.
Life, Society has always been more lenient on men than it has on women, men get far less sympathy in life than women do whenever someone is having or going through a hard, difficult time in life. Men typically don't have the same type of access to dates, relationships and sex like women do.
I'm sure these could possibly be factors as to why the suicide rate has always been higher among men compared to women.
What male privilege? Women lie and guys get thrown in jail whether they did anything or not. Guys have to work hard to support their family and put food on the table guys have to bust their ass to try to get laid girls can simply just decide to have sex with someone it is that easy for them even really fat ones. Girls can sleep their way to a great job so you tell me what privilege are you talking about?
Honestly i would go 1 step further and say women have it easier now they dont have to enlist in the army still dont have to be eligible for the draft they are respect and wanted for their mind adn bodies now and have it better they me cause they are educated and still use pussy as a weapon
I'd have to disagree with that. Woman have to go through the pain and sickness of pregnancy not to mention in more cases than not women take care of the kids. But that's our duty to keep the human race alive. Just as it's your duty to protect your country.
No, it's not a myth. Men are privileged because they earned it. Women are new to the work game and just expect they are entitled to privileges they haven't yet earned.
@NineBreaker like a guy being cool or a “stud” in the eyes of his friends and sometimes strangers vs a girl doing the exact same thing except she’s called a “slut” (with negative connotations) by her friends and sometimes strangers. Or how parents will be less concerned about their sons having sex but will be very strict in the daughter. Or how in general, men are taken more seriously when applying for jobs or when they are representing a brand... something along those lines.
No, it's real. I think what I've seen most is with children and house keeping, woman bare the load for much of that in most cases. Thank God for woman..😍

i honestly do not understand what you mean
is it male privilege to put marriage and children on the back burner? men are privileged because they try to succeed?
i truly do not understand how your arguments work
@Sjeggy women are expected to get married and have babies instead of focusing on a career, most generally prefer it that way. Men don't usually have to think about that type of stuff and can just focus on work and succeeding
but that isn't male privilege. saying women prefer raising a family and blaming that on male privilege sounds really odd to me
And honestly i do not find it fair either, you assume just because i am a man that i want a career instead of a family
I think it's sad that men are expected to put thier family on hold to pursue career. Is that a priveledge? I'm not to sure.
@Sjeggy Well said.
Well from what I've experienced at work I've always had to ask to do overtime or have certain opportunities at work whilst all the men are automatically given it without asking. again? is being assumed you want overtime really a privilege?
what kind of job do you have then? how do you know they don't expect you to want to reach higher?
There is privileges each gender has, it'd be dumb not to admit it.
I don't think it is a negative thing, just the way its supposed to be.
Name some privileges that males have.
Physical strength is the main one. For women it’s bearing children. Both sexes are so different how can anyone try to make them equal lol
Physical strength is how we are designed, that's not a privilege. A privilege is something you are allowed to get or do, such as you get away or things you're not required to do that others are.
A privilege is having something you can benefit from which others do not.

100% myth.
I did a take on this a while ago.

A bunch of old white guys in office has made all of that possible, so if you’ve got a problem, might wanna take it up with them.
Hell ya brah
You're just complaining about the government to be honest. And you can watch soap operas if you want...
@7Roses I’m not complaining. I don’t really care about who’s in office as long as we’re not on some Handmaid’s Tale bullshit 😂 (if you don’t know what that is, please look it up)

@Ellie-V I was talking to Poormanscomedian
@Ellie-V handmaidens tale 😱 if that shit went down I would take pleasure in murdering those kind of guys
@7Roses 😂 my bad bro
@BluesheepOwl omg yes, lawd knows I’d be the first one they’d start killing because I would not be able to do it 😂😂😂 I’d be flipping people off and fighting all the time.

I'm a girl and I don't have to worry about being sexually harassed or assauit.
@BeachBionic that's excellent, I hope someday all women can feel that way
Men only see women as an object they can use for their benefit and pleasure. Women are a man’s property so naturally they receive less. Like how a cow belongs to the farmer. If the cows rebel, the farmer says he doesn’t know what they’re talking about. All farmers treat cows that way, so it’s normal. All men treat women that way, so it’s normal.
And women only see men as a pocket book.
This is a very dark way of looking at it, or anything for that matter
It’s a dark truth that a women only realize until after he takes advantage of her.
And they take advantage of his pocket book
@Partywithtom Then spare girls and don’t date. The world needs less “man children” anyway. I make plenty of my own money and buy what I want myself. Oh no. I'm just emulating your behavior.
So what's that say about yourself?
As a "minimal-effort, lazy" guy there are girls that are interested. Also in a good relationship both take ownership and care for one another. If not then it's just two people that are close to one another but don't care for each other then it's meaningless. If you’re a male, you’re automatically considered a rapist for approaching a girl, so I would say male privilege is definitely a myth.
That’s stupid people don’t just go around thinking that every man is a rapist, fix up.
Women treat men like rapists yes they do
No they do not. But if a women says NO and you continue to touch her or engage in sexual activity then YES that is rape and YES you are a rapist.
@burntgold I've been called a rapist by feminist, all men have be called that b them and I have never raped anyone. Do you think you might possibly be getting lies, indoctrinated?

I’m not a feminist soooo? Like lol
@burntgold Thank god for that. And I hope you don't believe any of the lies they're spreading about men either. Feminist want women to hate men, truth.
I think feminists take feminism way too far and just start using it as a way to bash men which is wrong
@burntgold You are right, but it gets deeper than that, feminist push for laws that target and oppress men and get them too. Not only that they want women to believe that men hate them. Feminism is Marxism in a nutshell.
Yup pretty much
I dont know how it is in america but i do know that in my country it is easier to get a job if you're a male as well as they have a higher salary.
Does not exist in the U. S.
I think you mean more lenient on women.
@Kkaos yes, typo error
What male privilege? Women lie and guys get thrown in jail whether they did anything or not. In society women have all the privilege; in the wild men have the privileges.
I think it does exists in certain countries. But not the USA. In the USA men and women each are more privileged in certain ways.
That would be the Civilized Western World not just the US... Or Free countries.
Yes I agree.
Honestly i would go 1 step further and say women have it easier now they dont have to enlist in the army still dont have to be eligible for the draft they are respect and wanted for their mind adn bodies now and have it better they me cause they are educated and still use pussy as a weapon

In my opinion, they do have social privileges but none concerning politics or law.
Really? What social privileges?
@NineBreaker like a guy being cool or a “stud” in the eyes of his friends and sometimes strangers vs a girl doing the exact same thing except she’s called a “slut” (with negative connotations) by her friends and sometimes strangers.

You do make a good point, especially when it comes to the double standard when or times to sexual behavior.
However, I was wondering, went do medical employers or brand representatives tend to take men more seriously?
No, it's real. I think what I've seen most is with children and house keeping, woman bare the load for much of that in most cases. Thank God for woman..😍
