Is it racist for them to call me "Dora the Explorer"?

When I get off the school bus in the afternoon, there's me and a group of other students who walk home, in my neighborhood. Every time I walk in front of them, they say, "Dora the Explorer." They don't say it directly to me, but they're definitely talking about me. When I'm behind them, they don't say it, only when I walk in front of them. I'm Asian and have short black hair. I am not Latina. And it's me, two black kids, and a white kid at the same bus stop.

Is it racist? I don't know, is it rude and unacceptable, for sure.

You can tell them to stop, or you can try to befriend them and maybe show them you're a person too. Or you can do what I did and just unleash a tor**** of cursing and insults that would shock a sailor. As the only Asian kid in my grade in a school with a lot of whites, blacks and Hispanics insults and racial slurs were a normal part of the day. After a while, it just became SOP and a running joke and I became friends with some of the very people that would harass me.

Maybe not racist endless you're on the darker side for an Asian. However their still being extremely ignorant and stupid and need to be called out for it. Next time you pass by tell them #1 you can hear them and #2 you are getting uncomfortable with it and let them know if they don't stop you will talk to a teacher about it.

Okay, news to me! Like I said, I never watched it, I've only heard about it and saw it on commercials. Why would you be offended by it? Most of my life, people have called me, "Lurch" just because I'm as tall as him. I never take it as an insult.
