We did many good things. Yet it's pretty much forbidden to just thank white people for what they did since a lot was at the cost of human lifes. For example, here were some really nasty human experiments done in WW2 in Japan. Search unit 731, it is horrifying! You think Mengele was bad you haven't seen anything! After the war was over their papers actually gave an incredible advance in immunology and create a medical company dedicated to it. So hurra medical advances and health care brought to us by the white men, after doing the worst human atrocities possible! This is the argument as to why is not right to thank white people for what the done over the years.
Yet so many things were done simply because they wanted to make the world beter. Nikola Tesla is a good example. He found out how to bring free energy to everyone and was shut down because it meant less money for corporations. He died mad and alone. Many men just wanted to make the world better and did it out of their own sweat and blood! To those I say thank you!

Arabs & Turks used European & Africans as slave soldiers.
Arabs thought so little of African men that the mutilated their genitals so they couldn't breed.
Romans used to feed slaves to wild animals, fight slaves as gladiators, work them to death in mines and quarries or as oarsmen in galleys.
I think in the history of slavery African Americans had the best deal of the lot.

Well I respect your opinion.. but I have to disagree. Those slaves had the opportunity to buy there freedom! Especially the gladiators and soldiers and all that.. African American slaves would still be in slavery now.. if the civil war had not broken out and crippled the South forcing the hand of Abe Lincoln to try to fix it by signing the emancipation Proclamation. Which freed some slaves but not all at the time.. all slavery isn't good. And you can go back and forth about who had it worst.. but that's probably the most compelling part to me when I studied all the different histories of slavery.
