When a man tries to explain something to a woman and she feels stupid for not figuring out herself, she accuses him of "mansplaining".
"oh my god, that's really patronizing the way you just mansplained"

Mansplaining
A misandrist term for a man making too much sense.
Usually used by feminists to dismiss anything a man says that makes them look bad for stupid.
Feminist: "Obesity is absolutely a feminist issue, especially when fat people are called unhealthy and discriminated against!"

Man: "Obesity leads to diabetes, cancer, arthritis, and blood clots. They are only discriminated against, because it's unnatural for a human being to weigh 600 pounds. That would be a world record 30 years ago."

Feminist: "Stop mansplaining, you white male!"

Mansplaining
A word used by feminists to silence men and prevent them from learning that men actually have problems too and that their point of view isn't the only one
Feminist "women are paid 77 cents for every mans dollar"

A man "well actually every serious study showed that there more factors than just gender like how long they worked there and education"

Mhh, sometimes someone (woman or man) has tried to explain me something I already knew because they obviously don't know what I knoe and what I don't. So I usually say: "I know". If they don't stop over explaining the unnecessary I start to finish their sentences and say what I know so they get it and go straight to the point instead of wasting tine. Some other times I'm the one who's the annoying person explaining to someone what they already knows.

For me what I desxribed it's just an annoying, boring but innocent misunderstanding. Not masplaining or womansplaining.

But I understand the term mansplaining or womansplaining as something a bit different to what I described. For me, those two terms would apply when someone is explaining something they have evidence the other person must know (because they have certain position, career or it's common sense or something everybody should know) but they explain it and seems obvious that it is because that person it's from the other sex.

So examples would be a guy explaining to a girl who's computer engineer how to turn on the computer or use the mouse or whatever beign the computer normal and not having anything rare needed to explain. Or the other way a woman explaining to a guy who loves to cook basic cooking knowledge such as what is for each tool in the kitchen when he already obviously knows so she obviously does it because he's a man.

So I guess those terms apply when it's obvious that a gender stereotype is blinding the other person when it obvious that the girl or guy listening does know. However many people use the term in any situation making it loose that meaning.

Also if it not obvious that the girl or guy listening must know, or what's beign explain os not really that obvious at it seems, then neither of those two terms apply, it's just, again, an innocent misunderstanding.

er mansplaining meant women hated it when guys were on the bus/train sitting next to them and the guys knees would touch them cause men spread their legs wide. they didn't like it cause they felt like it was taking up space or invading their space.

I thought "mansplaining" is when a man explains something to a woman because he assumed she couldn't possibly already know about that topic.

I've seen it happen a number of times. The most egregious times I can think of:

- I saw a guy explain to a woman what Hawking Radiation is, even though she kept telling him she's familiar with the subject and that what he was describing was incorrect. She has a Ph. D. in Astrophysics and has been in the journal Nature for discovering an extragalaxial black hole.

- At a conference, a guy tried to tell my wife she got something wrong about a particular research study she cited during a panel interview. When she said he was mistaken, he doubled down and said she just didn't understand the research. She led the study in question, and wrote the journal paper he was referring to.

It’s explaining something. The sex of the person is irrelevant to me. It’s true that oftentimes people who try to explain something do so erroneously, but that’s the case with men and women.

That’s not what i learned mansplaining means. I’ve heard it means a man explaining something to you that you already know, either because he assumes you’re too dumb to know it already or because he wants to belittle you.

Either way. No, it hasn’t happened to me and if it ever does I’d just think the guy’s an idiot/jerk and that’s that. I think the concept of ”mansplaining” is ridiculous.

Mansplaining is a fake sexist term used by feminists to shut down conversation, and as the meme shows, is just the being offended when men talk to them exactly like they talk to other men. Only, most men don't get offended when someone tries to help them or teach them something. But feminists think they are too smart and strong to warrant help, especially from a man, and are too stupid to realize they probably need all the help they can get. Thus, the term was invented.

That's why I counter the term "mansplaining" with "cuntsplaining," when some stupid feminist tries to say something that most people either already know is the case for people other than feminists ("life is unfair to me") or when they say something that has been proven false a million and one times ("women only get paid 77 cents to every dollar a man makes"). Bitch, stop cuntsplaining.

I have been accused of mansplaining at my job. We were training a female line-cook. And she didn't want to hear anything lol
The next day I wake up with a bunch of texts from my boss and he is like "What did you say to her?"
