Am I aloud to do that?

So say in the court of law if someone whent after me or a person I know and was at a house phisically hurting them am I aloud to use a gun on someone that they are hurting one of my friends or family?

If you beleive someone is going to attack and cause bodily harm to you or whoever your with then yes you can. Everyone has the right to defend themselves and the people around you. It would be a sad world if you had to take a seat and wait for your freind or family to get done being assaulted. However you have to use the appropriate escalation of force and once the threat is gone you have to also stop and desist. If someone is pushing you or a family member you can't shoot them with a tank is basically what that means. The level of force you use has to be somewhat relative to their force. And once the are no longer attacking you also have to end whatever counter measures you had taken.

Depends on the country or state you are in really, although you could just claim self defence and hope for the best.
