Why do people believe every mixed kid looks like this?

When in reality mixed kids can be light skinned with an Afro or dark skinned with loose curls as well

It's because of stereotypes but also it's because usually also a lot of mixed people mixed with black and white are usually some type of light skin.

I never really believed that... My mixed race friends are pretty dark with Asian eyes and African hair.

I assume nothing. It's often difficult to tell if a person's mixed race or not and can be rude to ask so I never ask or assume.
