It is , I think whatever way you look at it absolutely biologically there are two true genders , the ones you are born with but socially there are many, what I mean is the way I look at things, I ask the question "Does it matter to me if...". So we have people who wish to identify as whatever gender they wish, you have things like gender fluid and I am sure loads of other terms I don't know.
I would meet and talk to any person then form an opinion on them. To have pre conceived notions before hand serves no purpose. We will just say a trans person for the sake of the question, knowing and talking to a trans person is no different to talking to CIS (hope that is right, so many get lost) person. You form an opinion on who they are not what they are.
Once they are doing me no harm, I am fine and I think in most groups on this earth there is the capacity for harmful idiots.
Back to your question as I say when you get to the core there are only two but I see no problem in evolving a society that identifies many. If we were to be hardcore, say look like this (Just grabbing a figure) half the world is over 35 and half under 35, should we only interact with these two groups on this basis.

There are 4 literal “dictionary” meanings or gender last time I looked.
-The original refers to grammatical terms, ie the actual words he vs she vs it, his vs hers vs it’s and so on.
-the second (in terms of how old the usage) is as a polite way of referring to biological sex.
-the third comes from early feminist analysis where it referred to a cultural classification and was used to distinguish cultural and learned differences between men and women from biological.
-the fourth, which is also decades old at this point, refers to an internal identify.
Depending on which definition is being used the answer to how many genders is:
- language dependent but 3 in English
- two plus some anomalies
- culturally dependent but two in most (cultures with eunuchs or other classes have existed)
- twoish to a few billion depending on how much you want to group similar people.
I don't know why it bothers other people so much. If someone who was once a woman now wants to be a man, let them. It's not like you have to fuck them or sit through a storytime of their transition story. The problem people have is basic respect, the referring to them by what they want to be called. I personally have no issue with it. If you're so stuck on there only being two genders then maybe move out of a first world where science has proven otherwise.
if your a democrate... eg o'bama said men can use the women's bathroom if they feel like a woman that day... there's at least 4 genders and then there's sub genders... in CA they make boys wear dresses to school for a week... until society gets their act together and reject democrates and their socialism it'll be a screwed up society... until we get idiots out of office like AOC things will never be normal again.

here's the way I see it, if someone doesn't want to abide by societal pressures to assume certain roles in one gender they dont have to if they dont want to. What I feel is unnessary is putting a new label on themselves to tell everyone "hey, this is how I choose to live life". Theyres non binary people that say they feel like both or one or the other genders at different times but that makes no sense to me. You dont just wake up one day and think oh im a boy/girl today. It doesn't work like that
You might not look so naive if you demonstrated you understood what you were talking about.
So, first of all - the trans community aren't the ones claiming that there are more than 2 genders. You're talking about non-binary/genderfluid individuals.
Secondly, as a tgirl - I'm well aware I am biologically male. Every time I see this 'You can't change gender!' rhetoric it comes from someone who doesn't really understand transgenderism.
It's about changing as many sex characteristics as realistically possible, because I'm happier doing so than not. If some pleb wants to be abstinent and rude, so be it, but I most certainly did transition.Isn't it rather 2 sexes but more than 2 genders? I agree that there are 2 sexes and more than 2 genders to a certain extent.
I agreed with the lgbt until they started adding genders and doing things that stopped making sense.
I mean homosexuals and trans and bis and heteros. That makes sense to me. But the others? seriously? It's too much.Gender and sexuality are two different things. There are only two sexes - male and female. Gender is more difficult to define; it can refer to social roles or the person's personal identification.
Do I completely agree? To an extent, I'm not going to say someone should be claiming that they identify as a cat or an Apache helicopter. I think there are a lot of ridiculous things involving gender identity but I'm in no place to judge them.Im a quasi pansexualized non-binary easily-triggered nevertrumper non-negotiable demiqueer rainbow sniffing octopod who identifies as a toaster oven/pygmy date palm tree
I agree but i can also say the same about bisexuality. I only see gay or straight. The moment you go for the same sex, you gay in my eyes. I dont want a dude that like getting dicked down/dicking down another dude
Its either a he, a she or an it, there are no other options
I’m happy to accept a trans woman as a woman, socially if they pass as one but yes they’ll always be male biologically. However I was recently reading about an experiment on mice that turned the males into females and vice versa. So maybe one day it’ll be possible for humans to fully transition and will put this argument to rest.
There's two. Period.
People can look or act in such a way that is traditionally associated with males or females, but biologically there are only two genders. There’s only men and women, and then there’s people who don’t want to be either
I mean, the dictionary definition, right there, states that "gender" can also be used to broadly denote a range of identities that do not correspond to established ideas of male and female.
So I guess in the modern vernacular, it's incorrect to say that there are two genders.
It appears that what you meant to ask is whether there are two biological sexes.I disagree. Only because there are cases of actual hermaphrodites. So, I say three, the rest is make believe
Biologically there are only two genders. No matter what propaganda they push onto children.
Delicate subject for most but I believe some people genuinely don't like to identify like mainstream of society but each to their own.
There are only two biological genders, but you can identify as whatever you want. I don't really care.
I won't understand how hard is it for someone to simply look at a trans person and call them what they want to be called, either be them a "he" or a "she.
Is it really that hard to respect someone's identity? There has always been two, there's two right now, and there will always be two.
The End.You cannot fully change into the opposite sex because you cannot change that chromosome.
I put "agree" but I forgot about hermaphrodites. Wouldn't they be considered to be a third?
Man and woman are the only 2 genders available. I self identify as someone who thinks that any thing other then 2 is idiotic.
