5.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The short version is yes, but with the understanding that the pregnant woman is not necessarily the guilty party in instances of rape. In order to enact a law like this however, you also have to establish a policy on what to do in any case- do you send a pregnant teen to jail? Do you forcibly abort the baby, or forcibly put it into foster care? Is it fair to do anything that would have a traumatic effect on the baby? This would end up being a much more complicated measure than most even consider...
You also have to look into the reason for even having a law. If the law doesn't actually make people safer, or is unenforceable, then it is worthless. Teen pregnancy is already a very heavily frowned upon status that is pretty much always extremely humiliating and more life-altering than it would've been otherwise, and rarely if ever actually planned.
So while I think everything feasible and ethical should be done to prevent teens from getting pregnant in the first place, I don't think making it a law is a major priority nor would it really accomplish much. In fact if anything, it would just increase the number of DIY abortions as pregnant young girls and/or their parents and boyfriends frantically try to avoid legal repercussions.10 Reply

2.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. That wouldn’t make any sense. A lot of teens are unaware of how easily they can get pregnant. I think making teens more aware would be better. It’s not like teen pregnancy is wrong...

Is most states it is wrong, they’re young
- +1 y
True but that doesn’t mean the younger generation should do it, my mother had her first child when she was in her 20s (she was veryyy religious) she believe the people who have sex under the age of 18 and have children are fast, and I don’t blame her, here where I’m from sex isn't able until you’re 18 but doesn’t nobody follow that rule so
- +1 y
Also I wouldn’t want my 13 yr daughter having kids
- +1 y
( I don’t have kids in just saying when I do)
- +1 y
Ik u said don’t say it but they’re still to young, they’re children having babies, I actually had a friend who lost a family member bc they tried to have a baby at a early age, which means their body couldn’t handle it , you may be ok with having a baby underage, but Ik plenty of women who don’t
- +1 y
I never seen an old woman have a baby
- +1 y
Why about menopause? Unless the woman freezes her egg
- +1 y
Or something like that
- +1 y
Yes I know, when you said old women I thought you meant like in the 90s sorry 🤷🏽♀️
- +1 y
And also you should read about health risks of teen pregnancy, you’d probably change your mind then
- +1 y
Ok so if there are Heath risk, then teen pregnancy isn’t ok
- +1 y
I’m trying to understand your logic as well sis, you’re confusing me
- +1 y
why would you want to have a baby as a KID a fucking kid
- +1 y
Why does that concern you? If you aren’t the one having the baby then why do you care? Your only reason for saying it’s wrong is because they’re “too young”. That’s it. You can be married at 17. That’s still a teenager. You still think it’s wrong for that same married 17 year old to get pregnant.
- +1 y
If the laws says they can’t do it, it’s wrong and if it isn’t wrong give me some examples of why? And if a child wanna be a mother than fine but if my child did it I would be very upset
- +1 y
That’s called “Malum Prohibitum”. It’s only “wrong” because it’s prohibited. In a general sense there’s nothing wrong with having a child young. My mom was a teen mom, Both grandmothers, And great great grandmother. They were all amazing mothers. My mom didn’t even have health complications during pregnancy until she had me at 33. (That’s far from being a teenager). If they’re taking care of their child properly then so what?
- +1 y
But what if they aren’t ready and aren’t available to other family members and adoption clinics what should she do then
- +1 y
If u know u aren’t ready to have a baby then why are you having one is what I’m kinda saying in my recent comment
- +1 y
Well then their baby won’t be healthy either and have to figure out something
- +1 y
Because they are misinformed and don’t understand the consequences. I said that it’s not wrong and it shouldn’t be illegal. It’s their parents job to teach them consequences and how to protect themselves. My cousin had his first child at 12 years old. TWELVE ! He didn’t understand the consequences of having sex...
- +1 y
well ok let’s so we taught them and they still did it, wouldn’t that be hardheaded?

1. ... unnatural.
2. ... unconstitutional.
3. ... unenforceable.
So, no.
Do I think teens SHOULD get pregnant? Generally, no, not in today's world, but, for some teen girls who are rich or have health challenges, sure.10 Reply
+1 yWhy its a easily fixed problem and 90% of the time its religous people who stop teenagers from first getting accurate and none bias sex ed that includes safe sex , plan b, stis and abortion and religious parents that stop them from taking the logical choice so basically your plan is like throw people into jail for doing their taxes wrong when no one know how to do them properly
011 Reply- +1 y
if they have sex they should know the consequences
- +1 y
Ya it $599 and a sight discomfort not prison9m
- +1 y
true but kids shouldn’t be having sex anyway, if they don’t want babies then use protection if not at least wait until you’re 18
- +1 y
Thats what im saying i large parts of the usa sex education doesn't even mention protection
- +1 y
Well, what would you suggest if your daughter got pregnant and knew she probably would have
- +1 y
Simple she gets a abortion he boyfriend mysteriously disappears and life moves on
- +1 y
Would you worry about her getting hate? Bc some women thinks they can control others
- +1 y
I would do it in secret obviously
- +1 y
Wait wait wait...🙋🏼♂️ how do you know that 90% of the time religion who does bla blah blah- sorry I tuned out before the end of your sentence.. lol seriously, what’s up with the fake percentages? It tends to make the reader, like me, to just tune out bc you obviously don’t know shit with such cavalier throwing out random percentages of something.., ya know? The rest of your reply comes across as jibberish bc you sound like a dick.. lol🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

+1 yIsn't that similar to consider making car accidents illegal?
I think, most teen pregnancies must be already quite a frightening situation; to add legal consequences will not improve that.13 Reply- +1 y
That’s what condoms are for, teens shouldn’t be having sexual intercourse anyway
- +1 y
I googled 'condoms' - that's a great idea :D :D :D
When I was a teenager myself, I was VERY thrilled of the idea of having sex; I guess, that's still natural. And yes: there is a 'too early'.
But a law isn't the right tool here. To shape a person into 'correct' - or say: appropriate - behaviour, parents and teachers [mainly] are a better source of guidance. - +1 y
Good point!
+1 yFor that teen sex would have to be made illegal too.
Teens can't stop themselves from having sex. How can they even control pregnancy? Even if it is made illegal.07 Reply- +1 y
They can have sex but not kids
- +1 y
How do you suggest them control that? You probably have heard how unpredictable pregnancy is.
- +1 y
Birth control, plan b, condone, or maybe just not have sex at all if you’re that worried of accidental pregnancy
- +1 y
Condom*
- +1 y
That's what I said. Teens can't even control their urges. How can we expect them to control pregnancy.
Also these pills and protection are not 100% effective. There is miniscule chance of pregnancy even after being this careful. - +1 y
They can control them, they just don’t want to, that’s my opinion but I see what you’re saying
- +1 y
Yeah some do intentionally venture into it. I get your POV too.

00 Replyin a way it is, you aren't suppose to fuck underaged people 😂
10 ReplyJust exactly how would that work? It seems like it wouldn’t...🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
10 ReplyPregnancy should be controlled by the government and require a bachelor degree in parenting to qualify you to apply, no matter what age you are.

Some people think teen pregnancy is wrong
- +1 y
It is wrong. But making it illegal would only harm teenagers who wind up pregnant. They need to get proper medical care.
