From what I've read, more than half of cases have no or mild symptoms, so why not just allow for natural immunity?

Sure, quarantine the vulnerable (elderly & immuno-compromised), but the for the rest of us, it doesn't seem that bad. Pay now (for those who will get no, mild, and more-than-mild symptoms) with targeted quarantine for a few weeks, and potentially reap the benefits (of potentially life-long immunity later).
No need to wait for a vaccine to be developed, which could be months from now. No need to wait for bureaucracy (& politics) in the jurisdiction-of-origin to certify it and run through the red-tape to start mass-manufacturing. No need for bureaucracies of other nations to go through their long lines of protocols, procedures, and office-politics to allow for approval and importation. No need for the cogs of multiple government-agencies to slowly turn for mass-distribution.
We get the natural herd-immunity, make a living, and pay our bills… without endangering the treasury, raising government's debt, and risking the national currency's collapse.

A vaccine is the only thing that's going to get life back to normal at this point, and all world governments know that.
I seriously hope that after all this mess, we start taking the anti vax movement seriously and start locking up people who refuse a vaccine for themselves and their children.
Probably because they know they aren't vaccinated so need quarantined.
A real question is why are so many antivaxers vaccinated already.
We are currently getting a reminder of what the world would be like without vaccines.

Isolation only works as well as people comply with it, which I have not seen so far, so that strategy isn't so hot. When a vaccine comes out I'll get it, I got a flu shot last year, and will again this year, the biggest issue is when it comes out, not if.
18 months minimum from when the virus was isolated, was is about Monday at the lab working on it here.quarantine is for sick people. I'm not sick, so why am I quarantined? When I have done NOTHING wrong, who has the right to say I can't drive down the road without risking arrest? I'm a prisoner in my own home for nothing I have done. Then, I'm supposed to TRUST them with a vaccinethat cannot be properly tested because they want it now? It's... just too much. Free the land of the Free.
Once there is a proven vaccine, safe and effective, the anti-vax folks should be required to do 100 hours of community service in a hospital ward for Covid patients. How's that?
haha!! I have seen worse than that. I have seen folk who are anti-isolation and social distancing, but wearing masks, gloves, etc. Many of them have more protection than the average healthcare worker.
Hilarious.because they for some reason believe it when the health industry tells them that a medicine is good but they believe it, when that same industry they mistrust says there's a danger xD being anti vax is idiocy. that would explain this contradictory position.
The two things have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
Anti-vaxxers are that way because they don't like injecting an 'unknown' substance into themselves or their children. Isolation doesn't involve that so why would they be against it?It is simple.
Stay inside: voluntary
Ordered to stay inside: totalitarianism
Get vaccinated or not: voluntary
Forced vaccinations: totalitarianismI'm pro isolation for people at risk , for example I'm not visiting any elderly family/friends and only interacting with people that do the same , young fit people shouldn't have an issue fighting covid off.
I'm anti vax because I've never had it and never been sick , I see workmates get the vax and they are always sick a week or two after haha , obviously I don't have a PhD or any "scientific " proof that you need / don't need the vax that's just my personal choiceYou're using your head, emmily.
The purpose of the isolation is not to save lives. It's goal is to build public support for mandatory vaccines, tracking and monitoring of every individual, police state, and cashless currency.
The continuous "one point of view" echo chamber of mainstream media has deliberately generated hysteria and consequent support for greater government authority. Bye bye individual liberty and constitutional guarantees.I'm anti isolation and anti vaccine on this matter. Not that I'm against people isolating, nor am I against people getting vaccines, but I am against laws threatening people with fines or prison if they don't isolate or get a vaccine.
That is facismI am neither pro- nor anti-vax. I see vaccines generally as a good thing, but I am critical of the current state of vaccines (which have higher side-effects than a few decades ago) as well as pushing vaccines into the public before they have properly been tested (remember the Swine Flu? Yeah, news pretty much silenced the massive amounts of side-effects on the vaccine for that)
HAHAH your very naive and young clearly. You think this vaccine is released and it's safe to take like that? Stupid thinking vaccines take 10 years! To make this vaccine is just rushed work and when your family or friend gets seriously sick or with lifelong illness because of it your government will shrug their shoulders and say good luck. Anti vax right now is smart and safe.
I am with pro isolation for obvious reasons, and with anti vaccine for the following reasons: a real vaccine for the virus we will have in 1-2 years and that's an approximation. The real amount of time it will take to develop an effective vaccine is unknown. What do I know is that for the meanwhile we are gonna be treated like lab rats.
I don't expect any logical consistency from people who at this point still don't understand the severity of the pandemic, let alone who believe in conspiracy theories like anti-vaxx, 5G, lab virus, etc. These people are out of their minds and simply fabricate any explanation necessary to make sense of their nonsense.
Ask a Doctor (MD) who doesn't bullshit you, then you'll know why.
Short answer: vaccines aren't that effective and the bullshit politics that come with it.God damnit just just God damnit. 🤦♂️ Vaccinations aren't bad repeat after me. Vaccinations aren't bad
Personally if it's not a virus that has a high mortality rate, which it doesn't, then I don't see the need for a vaccine.
No they are the ones with a brain you obviously aren't. I have known about this chip for almost a decade. The vaccine will be a chip that they want to inject us with. There will not only be heavy metals more than likely but a tracking device. The chip is the size of a small grain we would not even know it if they put it in us. You trust the government and believe the media 100% and are deceived.
Because vaccines don’t protect those too old or too young to be vaccinated.
Isolation does. The isolation is stupid because people are losing their jobs. I know the coronavirus is killing people but that doesn't mean everybody else has to lose their job.
