Is it bad that I think everyone around me is stupid?

By everyone around me, I mean Americans. I honestly think that most Americans, especially southerners, have low IQ’s and I treat them as such. This is especially prevalent when I drive as I always think of every possible outcome that can happen and never trust other drivers on the road. I think most Americans are too emotional to be intelligent and so most American people bore me. Is it bad that I think everyone is dumb?

Have you heard of the "cone of ignorance"? It's the idea that you don't know what you don't know. The more you learn, the more you realize there is left to learn.

In other words, if you are certain of your intelligence, you're probably in the dark about a lot of things. People might act irrational, they might drive erratically, they might make mistakes, but if you were truly above average in intelligence, you'd see past these blunders to our similarities instead of seeing yourself towering above us all.

I’ve heard of the Dundee Kruger effect which is similar to what you’ve said, but even so, notice how I didn’t say that I was incredibly intelligent myself. I do, however, have an above average IQ, which I cannot say for most American people considering the average IQ of an American is 98. My theory is that it’s mostly southerners causing our current average IQ.

People don’t care about IQ in this country because it hurts people’s feelings. Just driving in this country give me a headache sometimes. I’m not claiming that I have an ultra high IQ, but doesn’t excuse other people’s stupidity.

I don’t care to meet most Americans. They provide nothing of value to me. If crying is you’re personality trait, you probably wouldn’t care to use your intellect (assuming you have it) because you would be too busy acting upon your emotions.

Because I’ve seen how they act, their day to day activities, their driving habits, what they care most about, etc. All of which are incredibly unintelligent. You’ve provided evidence of the most useless form of intelligence of all, emotional intelligence. There is no merit behind emotional intelligence. You can’t pass STEM classes with emotional intelligence. It is utterly worthless in the grand scheme of things. It’s only useful if you want to be a therapist.

I’ve seen how most of them act. Angered and ready to fight when provoked. They care too much about their race (s) instead of human unity, most of them drive like they don’t know or care what they are doing, I can go on. This is for the majority of Americans.

And? I go outside and drive around my city, does that mean that I have met most of the people in my country? No. Just because I watched some videos and read some articles does that mean I’ve met most of the people in my country? No. The fact that you think that is even a decide way to decide ones intelligence proves to me that you’re not smarter than the ‘average American’. I assume most are intellectually beneath me because most people in this country do dumb things. To be honest, I didn’t really care about your comment after you linked an article talking about emotional intelligence lol. Which is probably why I didn’t care to read what you were asking carefully.

Everyone does dumb things at some point in their life. We’re human. But that doesn’t mean they’re not intelligent. My grandmother is incredibly intelligent and worked for the government before she retired. She had an office in the Chrysler building that she flew back and forth to from London once a year. The other day, she accidentally hit me with a crutch and cried for two hours straight. Crying doesn’t mean someone isn’t intelligent. Nor does making dumb mistakes. My aunt is head teacher of three schools, as a teenager she got arrested for a lot of dumb crap but she grew up to be incredibly smart. It’s not fair to determine someone’s intelligence when you’ve only had a sneak peak of their life and personality. You didn’t like it when I questioned your intelligence when it took you a while to answer my question, but it proves what I’m trying to say here. Seeing a few seconds or minutes of somebody’s life doesn’t give you enough information to determine whether they’re smart or not 😊.

Unfortunately that is true. Everyone does dumb things, however some people do more dumb things than others. I didn’t ask about your grandma. You didn’t even provide me her IQ score. You can say “ Seeing a few seconds or minutes of somebody’s life doesn’t give you enough information to determine whether they’re smart or not” to anyone, but it isn’t just a few seconds or minutes, it’s repeated actions, which I’ve observed from a lot of Americans. For example, being a certain race. Imagine actually caring about a skin color allegiance so much that you care about what, other people who share your skin color and those who don’t, do with their lives.
