What's your reaction or opinion on jordan peterson saying trump's iq is high?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EebRtIK4o7c
I don't think it's a terribly unreasonable conclusion. I mean, one would think that somebody HAS to have a high IQ to literally be president of the United States--especially without support from the establishment of the party whose platform they're running on.
However, if he does have a high IQ, he must just be extremely inarticulate, because Trump is just not a good speaker.
"At what point does someone get smart enough for you to reconsider if your opinions don't match?" - Never. Intelligence does not concern the validity of one's axiomatic beliefs. It only concerns the proficiency with which one arrives at a conclusion based on said beliefs without making logical errors along the way. For instance, Noam Chomsky is far more intelligent than Charlie Kirk, but that doesn't necessarily make Chomsky's axiomatic beliefs closer to objective truth/reality than Kirk's. It's entirely possible that Kirk, despite how stupid he is, just happened to clumsily stumble upon ideas that are closer to the truth than Chomsky's. All it means is that Chomsky is likely to have fewer logical errors between his axiom and his conclusion. It doesn't mean he's right.
Successful? Wonder what they have been reading? Let's start with a the very least the running for president. Had it not been for his family he would have dropped out. So yes we have them and the other like-minded to thank for that. Business wise, again also a failure. Daddy gives him almost half a billion dollars and he looses that as well. So the success comes from far too many people with no life. And the selling point of getting him nominated was "build that wall" shows that there are that many racist illiterates in America. The path to being a good human is admitting when you are wrong and not trying to beating someone over the head to your justification. And if his iq is high then this means a rock is just as high if not higher. And if it comes up about what property he has left one might argue to what extent the russians have helped? Maybe one reason why jumped the system to the supprem court to hide evidence. If there's nothing to hide why go through all the trouble to waste tax payers money to hide something that's not there. And before trolls say "how is he wasting tax payers money" whom do you think is supporting the government?
I agree, while i'm not a fan of trump, I think his IQ is high, his morals/judgement is just different and he's extremely vocal about them. His emotions take over him too in my opinion. A person can be smart and have a high IQ but still be dumb as shit and rude.
It sounds like he is praising trump for his stance against abortion and it’s made me lose respect for him. I’m no longer interested in his books or in talking to him which I might be able to since he is a professor in my university.

Oh but he is. You do realise the only reason he stayed relevant enough to become president. Was due to him doing over the top things to get media attention to stay in the limelight.
If you go back and watch him when he was young he was pretty smart compared to how he acts during running and been president. The key word is "act". He is very good at this. Bad publicity is still publicity that can be used if done right. And that's exactly what he did. So him having a high IQ wouldn't surprise me at all.
I would of done the same myself and i have a high IQ. I can see the logic of what he did very well.
However IQ don't mean smart. So saying he ain't stupid ain't exactly correct. IQ is just judge by the way you can problem solve. Which don't even mean he needs to be smart. But most people would say there one in the same. But not really since it's talking about how smart they are overall.
I think Trump is smart and smart enough to convince a mass of not so smart people to vote for him. For smart people it is often extremely difficult to convince not so smart people people to follow them, since they are terrified of being screwed, in the case of Trump yes, they have been screwed.
However, he is not a brilliant person, having an above average intelligence does not mean being a genius. Especially when the average intelligence of Americans is below than 100. If you correlate the average state IQ with Trump results you will see that there he lose where people are smater.
Where he loses is with people who deem themselves smarter than they really are.
I think his IQ is high, but in a specific region for relations with people. He isn't exactly book smart, but he knows how to be a businessman and to encourage/manipulate people around him to do what he thinks needs to be done. What can sometimes be confusing is when he sabotages himself, and he does do that sometimes.
Read win bigly, it makes sense (at least partially...)...
Wait what are you referring to? Lol
Your confusion about him sabotaging himself. As to why he does it...
Oh ok
Yeah there does seem to be a prevalent issue of people conflating a different opinion with being a bad or unintelligent person.. that's not good.
My opinion is that everyone is intelligent, in some way. Trump's achievements reflect his intelligence in business, leadership, charisma, salesmanship, manipulation, yes I believe these are forms of intelligence. Intelligence is not only academic.
My reaction is that it doesn't really tell us anything. There are lots of intelligent people who are stupid in some areas. I have a friend who is a Chemical Engineer, but in chess I can pull my queen and still beat him 2/3 of the time. Some people are utter geniuses in theory but dunces in application.
Nah, I think he is stupid. He is a showman. He has a gut feel for what the crowds at his rallies want.
But the danger is when he is gone.
What if there is a guy who runs for President, advocating the same things? But is much smarter.
i expect a repeat on the bases of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEX81i02sLw
He clearly doesn't use that high iq if he has it. Being rich is not a sign of intelligence it just means he isn't a complete imbecile. Aslong as you hire the right people you can become richer out of their intelligence and actions.
and he clearly can't even manage that... according to his own words.
I wasn't surprised. Why? Because I don't have passionate feelings about Trump, lol. Don't love or hate him, so my political biases and emotions don't cloud my judgement.
You would think this is common but apparently it's not.
You mean, what's my reaction to stupid shit that doesn't matter? Uh... okay.
Me: (yawns) Wow this is stupid shit that doesn't matter. And he's wrong.
It's weird and interesting that you took the time to talk about something that you consider irrational, that shouldn't matter. And interesting counter argument, he's wrong. Don't know how many people would get convinced by that.
If someone said "dog shit smells good" and you were like "uh... no, it doesn't, that's wrong," and I come in with "wow great counter, just 'he's wrong' great job," you wouldn't think that that was... pretty stupid? Self-evident things are self-evident. "The sun is bright." "Dark is dark." "Water is wet." "Donald Trump is stupid." I really can't make this simpler for you.
Read win bigly.
(yawns) Good work out there, champ.
I don't know what that is supposed to mean, but ok.
Except it s logically necessary that dark be dark and water be wet.. Seems that you are not quite as sharp as you think.
@Liam_Hayden Um... right
Donald Trump doesn't have a lot of factual knowledge but I wouldn't say he is dumb. The chances of a really dumb person being as successful as him are not high.
1000 Volts do nothing when the fuse is blown.
Trump is intelligent in his own way.
I have no idea what you mean or are referring to but it feels funny so I laugh. Care to explain/elaborate?
I mean: High intelligence only is useless when it does not produce 'good' results. Where 'good' here means: acceptable... or at least tolerable.
Overall, I find 'IQ' to be over-rated: I know several people who aren't smart in this specific respect; but they as well can come up with smart ideas and solutions.
Back to Trump: He's undoubtedly over average; but that does not compensate for his shitty personality. I could even agree to some of his ideas, if only he would not present them covered in dirt. That's one mental region where he's... 'dumb'.
No that's a marketting strategy (or at least I would think so), read win bigly. I think it was peter thiel who said something along the lines of, you shouldn't take trump literally but directionally.
His direction isn't mine.
Trump's shitty personality: Calling people out on what they do.
Joe Biden's wonderful personality: Dog-face pony soldier, you're full of shit, etc.
Trump's a jerk to people who repeatedly pester. Biden's a jerk to voters who ask him simple questions.
@Liam_Hayden Yes: they all suck. I'm sure there will be a few much better guys to choose as your -emm- leader.
Trump is either insanely lucky or insanely genius. I'm unsurprised a social scientist didn't attribute an outcome to luck.
That's what someone said to ken langone I think, but it's pretty rare to be 'that' lucky, you are dividing multiplying probabilities here so maybe that's why. But also possible.
I think he doesn't realize that Trump provides the money and his employees do all the thinking.
Peterson isn't wrong. It's pretty clear that Trump's IQ is above average.
he's dumb as a post according to everything. he can manipulate his base well enough, however.
It's certainly higher than Biden's IQ
Some people's idea of high is pretty low.
It shows Jordons iq is low
Dr. Peterson is right. Trumps IQ is near 170
