Why does everyone hate feminism?

I never understood that. Lots of good people in this world identify as feminist. Im not a hardcore feminist, but i so support equality. It seems people hate on feminism because they saw a few memes online about a crazy nutjob and forget the true meaning of the actual movement.

Feminism used to mean equality, now it mean female superiority. People like Anita Sarkeesian, who lost their minds over every little thing are the reason why people aren't too keen on identifying as feminist anymore. The vast majority of these people aren't misogynists though. They do want equality, and that is precisely why they don't call themselves feminist. Also, a lot of self proclaimed male feminists are real weirdos.

Most of these groups as they get a taste of power they go insane and that is what happened to feminists. Feminism made its mark; women today have many more rights than men. I am not sure how far the now “superior woman” movement wants to go. Maybe when there is about 10:1 women to men in all aspects, will that do it? Doubt it!

Youtuber's like sargon telling them it's a cultural Marxist conspiracy theory that feminist are trying to emasculate boys and turn america communist. Yes there are crazy feminist, but they do not represent the majority. And all political movements have crazy people in it not just feminist.

We were asked this in class and everyone roasted feminism but when they asked if they supported the 'equality' they all agreed which is common sense therefore I believe that people only disagree with 'femisism' because we only think of the negative aspects after all we don't experience the benefits nor hear of them first hand.

In my country (& many others), it’s illegal for women to be discriminated against for their gender. So I wonder how it makes sense that we have many (typically millennial) women who identify as “feminist”. It’s like calling yourself a warrior when you have no battles to fight

It's because feminism has been warped by radicalists into this notion that females should receive special treatment. They say they want equality, but they only want the benefits, not the downsides.
