Why do so many people hate feminism?

I understand that some people nowadays do stupid or even hateful stuff in the name of feminism. However, feminism is about empowering women, about striving for equity between men and women, not about hating on men, that is called misandry.

And yes, women still face sexism nowadays, we still need feminism. And yes, that happens to men too. However, just because men have problems it doesn't mean women should leave their problems unsolved. If men don't like sexism against them then nobody stops them from trying to fix the issue.

It's because many of the things that feminists push for are not about equality, they just like to pretend that it is.

You say that people don't try to stop men from fixing issues that affect men, but that's either a lie or you have no idea. There have been talks for example about male victims of domestic violence, male suicide, things like that - many of these events received heavy backlash from feminists trying to shut them down.

Look up the story of Erin Pizzey, the woman who opened the first domestic violence shelter for women. See what the feminists did to her when she tried to help men as well. If you don't know about that already you'll be shocked.

In general, feminists will always fight against anything which is pro-male - unless it fits the feminist agenda. They pretend to care about men and not to hate men, but that's what they do. Things men care about and want to fix, the way men are treated in divorce for example with child custody, excessive child support payments, alimony etc. Feminists do not care about and will try to prevent. When they say they care about men it almost always has to do with emasculating men in some way.

Most feminists are very manipulative in the way they argue their points and with the things they push. In some ways it's actually quite clever the way they've done it, although with the internet it becomes easier and easier to see right through it. It's clever because the ones who really drive this are also able to convince feminists like yourself to defend their misandry without you even realising it.

For example, you've probably seen the "toxic masculinity" Gillette advert right? Men have a problem with masculinity being demonised, Gillette lost money from putting that advert out. Feminists will say that it's about teaching men to be better, not hating men, men are stupid to dislike it and only misogynists would - "normal" feminists say this and you probably agree. That advert was actually created by lesbian radical feminists. Those are the misandrists. Their previous work is very misandric, which is obvious to anybody who actually understands it.

Next, the American Psychological Association said that traditional masculinity is a mental illness. That means that these feminists have successfully pathologised masculinity itself. This will then be used for other reasons. Most feminists are left-leaning, and the left are anti-gun in general. They want to push for stricter gun laws right? Mental health checks. Traditional masculinity can be classed as a mental illness now - feminists see traditionally masculine men as the biggest enemy - by putting this in place all they need to do now is get those stricter checks and they'll eventually be able to stop masculine men from owning guns.

With #meToo, recently Sheryl Sandberg was on TV complaining that many male bosses and managers are avoiding one to one meetings with women to avoid being falsely accused of anything. One concern that men have is being destroyed by a false accusation. What do feminists do? Push the idea that we should always believe women, that false accusations rarely happen, that guys have nothing to worry about. But they do, because false accusations happen. Those guys are being sensible. What did Sheryl do? Complain that women need more one to one time and then men just need to do that, or that we need to stop men from having one to one time too to make it fair.

They push something misandric, men react negatively, and they play these manipulative games where they try to prevent that from happening. It's always about gaining more leverage for women.

First and foremost how can something empower only women but be about equality? You have already excluded men from that. Also equity is not something we should ever strive for because what equity is, is different input but same output that is women get the same as men even if they are not making the same sacrifices as men are (in this case). So already you have proven why people don't like feminism, its a ideology that is about taking from others to give to women, specifically in the realm of rights and priviliges (which women have already had more of to begin with).

Feminist quite literaly blame men for EVERYTHING, you are quite literally stating that men are oppressing women (because if we are not equal and its not biological and its not women then who else could it be that is "oppressing" you? Who is withholding "rights" from you (never mind that you cannot even name a single right that you don't have and men do (because women have more rights then men))? So you have already disproved your own statements and we haven't even gotten to the second paragraph.

What sexism do women face currently? The answer is NONE, not one incident of sexism is directed at women (but their is substantial amounts of sexism directed at men). What problems do women have that need to be resolved precisely? I mean women didn't even have problems that where caused by sexism in the past, how the hell is that the case now (and I know what your going to say (because femininst are predictable) and claim that they where oppressed and you will prove it by taking everything out of context (like how women couldn't vote but then ignore that men couldn't either))?

As for no one stopping men, yes actually feminist stop men from trying to fix their issues. Dr. Warren Farrell had a talk about male suicide (because almost 80% of suicides are male) and feminist threatened the facility and then pulled the fire alarm to shut down the discussion about male issues (also on the agenda I believe was descrimination in education (boys score higher on tests then girls but get lower grades from their female teachers (I know crazy right? Clearly men are some how to blame for that I'm sure.). Feminist shout down any attempt to discuss men's rights and descrimination, in fact they managed to get the only male domestic violence shelter in Canada shut down after years of non stop attacking and lobbying (ironic since women commit domestic violence at much higher rates then men (almost 70% of it is by women towards men) yet their are now no shelters for men in Canada and only one in the US despite their being thousands for women (paid for by tax payer money (which is predominantly coming from men)).

NOW (national organization for women) actively lobbied AGAINST equal custody laws, and won (and bragged about it for years on their website before they realized it looked bad and took it down (you can probably find screenshots of it floating around the internet though). So yeah, not only are people (feminists) fighting against men trying to bring up their issues and fix these problems, they are actively creating them.

Majority of the world population lives in parts of the world where there is hardly any gender equality. And so, uh, if we really considering how many women are really facing misogyny then you should totally be a feminist because it's still majority of women.

Most people still don't get that "at the feminist society open mic night, everyone who's female or identifies as such can speak, but no male or male-identifying people are allowed to" is NOT feminist, seeing as it actively excludes and denies one gender a voice - like in history, women have been denies a voice or the opportunity to share their issues, which is how feminism actually came to live.

You need to distinguish between a #feminist and a feminist. The good-old first wave of feminists really have a point because #oppression in any way is not good and so #inequality is. But the 2nd and 3rd wave of them, they are basically and simple said, men-hater and crazy. They mostly wear short hair in strange colors... Never spotted them?

And besides: 9% of all women are feminists. So globally seen, with males counted in, only ~4.5% of all humans are feminists (assuming that we have a 50/50 distribution of males/females). I was in a boarding house where really bad people live. I was there for a mild reason, being slow on social development and that I loved my computer to much, I was "addicted" to it. Anyway. One day, a young African woman came there (for whatever reason she has to come, she should never have to) and all guys (I can still remember the worst 2 guy's names for 100%: N. J. and T. Z.) turned horny on her. I know they only want sex from her so I felt reall sad already (for her, of course). I later found her and hold her hand for a while and asked "Looks nice, ha?" while looking down on our hand pair. I was then to shy to get (quickly before these cowards) as my girlfriend so they used her for sex pleasure. I was later approached by one (N. J.) and asked if I "want her because she is horny in bed". I refused and answered that I would want her as a girlfriend. He could not understand that and asked back why, then I replied that I would even kiss her. Now it comes hard: He replied: "No kissing them, yuck! They are only there to be fucked."

I dated an #African before I now together with another one. She has been used by her #German (feeling ashamed about what he did) boyfriend in all ways for only having #sex with her. He even didn't show up on birth-giving in hospital and didn't care about the child she has from him. I for myself cannot do such thing to a woman, as pointed out in above first story. So I told her about it and how much I [still!] felt sorry for her.

We later felt in love and dated the first time in reality. There we kissed before we sat down for first shared lunch and afterwards she let me come to her and kiss her again. Really high amount of emotions came up in both of us. Then later I had to find it out that she cannot tolerate me being an #Atheist as she is with a very strong believe in God and I'm not. I hope now, you can understand me why I'm against sexism but still it doesn't require to be a feminist to fight such jerks and cowards. They are the minority and yes, they do a lot harm on women's trust in males. I think it has more to do with how these issues are being approached rather than people thinking they don't exist.
When you shut down the opposition the second they try to argur against you, regardless of how logical or reasonable the counterargument is, because it's "hate speech".
When you keep spreading false statistics and inaccurate information like the "1 in in 4 women" number or the wage gap despite how easy it is to disprove.
When you talk about gender roles being a "social construct" despite all the evidence we have pointing to how a lot of our behavioral differences are because of biological traits.
And most of all:
When the rational members of the feminist sphere, the ones who DON'T do these things mentioned above, either stay silent and try to pretend as if there is no problem in their movement, or simply brush it under the rug by claiming how "they're not real feminists", in turn making sure that the issue remains, people are going to be very turned off from joining your cause.

Because the feminists who get the most attention are usually pretty ridiculous.

My wife used to be a feminist but about a year after we got married she stopped calling herself a feminist because nobody takes them seriously anymore. And actually that has helped a lot whenever she talks to people about the situation (she enjoys discussing politics and social issues). I've wondered this too. I see so many attacks on feminism that I asked the attackers who these dastardly people were. Most could not name a single feminist leader. One named a few highly obscure people on social media. The scourge of feminism seemed to exist primarily in the minds of angry men. There were very few women behind what was believed to be a massive movement.

What I could gather was that this is really a response to the @metoo movement. A lot of men accused of rape claimed the accusers were lying, especially politicians. This is typical but now a lot of men believe that most rapes reports are false. They believe that large numbers of evil women seduce men and then accuse them of rape afterward for no other reason than to destroy them. This belief probably accounts for part of the increase in rapes in the past few years.

Equity is not equality, equity is like communism, equality is like capitalism, equity is not good nor deserved, equality is good because people have the chance to succeed no matter who they are, for example women gravitate toward education and medical fields and men gravitate toward stem fields and more dangerous fields.

At this point i don't care what feminists claim feminism is about. It's obvious feminists hate men, some more than the others but that's a prerequisite to becoming a feminist and as a man it's only natural that i hate the whole movement. I don't. I fully support women's lib, equal rights and equal opportunity. But I will say that some feminists are completely off the rails. They seem to resent men and/or hate them to the core.
