I’ve never really been anywhere else, but I’m not particularly impressed with our citizens, by and large, we’re mostly self-aggrandizing, mindless, gluttonous consumers. We have a lot of shiny bells and whistles, it seems, but I question if that’s really what a country should specialize in or if that should be the ultimate goal for a citizen, hyperconsumption. I guess I’m supposed to be impressed that we have the NFL and make the most movies and TV shows, but that doesn’t really excite me. REALLY thoroughly unimpressed with the amount of people here who can’t be fucked to wear a mask during a pandemic, and furthermore, the people who actually think this is some elaborate hoax that the entire government, healthcare system, and coronavirus patients are all in on, just to attack our civil liberties. I mean... holy FUCK, guy. Don’t make your tin foil hats too big, the rest of us have leftovers to wrap up, lmao. Side question: This is an international site... but I’m not seeing anyone but Americans bucking at wearing masks. Are you guys from elsewhere having the same amount of people protesting this? Seems like a simple “don’t be a selfish asshole, wear a mask in public, the better we are about this, the sooner we can get back to normal.” I know Italy got hit pretty hard... but I don’t see Italians on here screaming about “muh freedom!”
And what I really resent about America is that they beat it into our heads that everywhere else is inferior in every way, and this is the only place anyone can ever be happy or free. Like if you were trying to tell me America is comfortable, I might believe you. But don’t tell me we’re the best at everything that’s been done and ever will be done, that’s brainwashed lunatic shit. And the response if you fight it is, “why don’t you move to (insert downtrodden underdeveloped country) and tell me how you like it!” Like imagine someone just making the mere suggestion that you could live just fine in another country, and the other person just gets super defensive, like you’re asking THEM to move, or change literally anything about how they live, but you need to think like they do or you can’t be here. There are parts of this country where I could walk into a bar and simply say, “well, I think America is fine, but I think I might like living in (insert country) better...”, and I could find myself getting the shit stomped out of me by a bunch of overfed and undereducated imbeciles who think they’re being good patriotic Americans by kicking my dissenting ass. That is Bananaland CRAZY. Nationalism for any country is crazy, it’s no different than fanatically rooting for your home sports team, and really, they tap into that same exact mentality to get you. Kicking someone’s ass for not having what you believe to be appropriate reverence for America is the same as kicking someone’s ass because they like the Giants and you like the Dodgers. Absolutely insane mentality.
So I don’t know, man. What is America the best AT? Some things, I’m sure. Other things not so much. For me, living under any sort of rule of law, whether it’s American, fuckin’ Sharia law, whatever, is an infringement of my human right to do anything I fucking please. So any country that doesn’t just let me live is violating, as far as I’m concerned, and I’m willing to trade in artificially-obtained safety to enjoy that absolute and unfiltered freedom. Seems everyone forgot to leave some habitable land for those of us with that mentality...🤔
Not a bad answer. :)
if america isn't the best then what country is, if u can't explain why u feel another countrys better dont bother answering.
I know it is. Its also a country where you can easily get rich if you play yah cards right, easily become famous if you play your cards right, has the best pussies :) and i can go on
I’m originally from the U. S. born and raised. I lived in Switzerland for a year and I can vouch that it’s a way better country. Healthcare is amazing over there. You also earn unemployment while you work, so you’re not using up other people’s money if you end up unemployed. If you never use those funds (never end up unemployed) it ends up in a retirement/emergency fund for you. Men also get paternity leave if your partner has a c-section and needs help, etc. they don’t have an electoral college so the people actually vote for the president. So many other things, just too much to put on here.
As someone who has traveled to 13 different states, lived in New York, traveled to 9 different countries and lived in 4 different countries. The US is the absolute last place I would ever want to travel to again, much less live in.
US is not number one on ANY listen except for "power" so if that is the only measure you care about, fine US is the "best" but healthcare, education, life expectancy, happiness, US is way down on any list. Which country is number one? Switzerland. Number two? Norway. 3rd? Canada. 4th? Germany. 5th? Sweden. 6th? Monaco. 7th? Australia. 8th? Japan. 9th? Netherlands. Should I keep going?
Wait America is number one, in ego, ignorance, obesity, heart disease, corona virus cases and death, and number one worst president of a democracy to ever have lived.
@Angie2211964- do you know that’s exactly how our unemployment system works? We pay into a fund that accumulates over time, and is what’s used when they become the nemployed, if never used, it goes into our social security retirement fund. Same thing you say Switzerland is so unusually better than USA. I think they copied it from the USA... lol
@Archerer- perception is everything, sometimes actual reality doesn’t matter. Your perception becomes your reality. Your “list” in order of greatness is only your perception, it is not necessarily actual reality. So I say, who the fuck cares who you think is greatest, or not? You have your opinion, and I have my opinion, on your opinion.
@Girther10 lol the unemployment system doesn’t work like that in the U. S 🤦♀️🤦♀️
@Archerer please pack you bags and get the hell out of his country if you don't like it. Don't knock it if you can ;t make it here go to your favorite country and live there we don't need you and frankly your taking up space that could be used by some one useful
@darkcloud1945 I've been gone for years... Living in Canada now, an amazing country :)
There is no number 1.
Every country has pros and cons.
Therefore I voted no.
US struggles with corruption, religion, affordable education lack/ of quality food and culture. But the natural diversity, friendliness, housingmarket and ability to work your way into wealth are incredibly appealing.
Western Europe for example has issues with liberal politics, mass immigration and high as fuck taxes and unaffordable housingmarket Pros would be the culture, architecture, nature, food and financial stability.
Any country where it's citizens are frightened to walk down the street without being armed doesn't even make it into the top ten
How does an illegal from Africa even make it across the Atlantic
the streets of america are less crime ridden than london, we just have higher standards than you
@007kingifrit not true, Detroit, Baltimore, South Side Chicago, East LA, are much worse than London, or Manchester.
Is that america?

What country is the most frequent destination when people leave their native language? Yes, the US. There's a reason why!
Just what i was thinking
Native land. The guy that invented autocorrect deserves to suffer a horrible injury! 😡😡😡
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Tourism_rankings
Is that so? :)
I'm not talking about tourism.
I see.
Well, its flag certainly makes for some eye-catching bikinis (though isn't "eye-catching bikinis" kind of redundant?), but in the interest of fairness and scientific rigor, I think we need to see more experimental evidence with other flags. Nepal comes to mind...
More seriously, best in what way? It's bright and loud and fast and has some gloriously high ideals that is has real trouble living up to. As an ardent advocate of free speech, meritocracy, and due process, I'm all for those American ideals- but do we judge countries on what they currently are, or on what they aspire to be? Or do we just stick with bikinis?
Maybe number one in coronavirus cases, but not in much else.
People from the US like to claim that in the US anyone can become rich, the American dream, bla bla bla. But that's not really the case... Social mobility is much higher in Europe. Education is so expensive that you can only get it if you are rich to begin with or if you get massive student loans. Health care is also stupid expensive, but "universal health care is socialist" so they don't want it. They have a right to own guns, and that reflects in the amount of homicides and mass shootings that are unseen in other developed countries.
Also the extreme patriotism is honestly creepy, like reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in Schools and stuff... The ignorance about the world outside the US, the blind belief of being the best country makes it a country unwilling to grow in my opinion.
Actually thats incorrect. fee.org/.../
fee.org/articles/income-mobility-alive-and-well/
The wealth gap has widened but that is only because the rich are getting richer faster then the poorest are getting richer but both are increasing. Also the poor in america are on average richer then their european counterparts:
fee.org/.../
www.bloomberg.com/.../how-the-u-s-and-european-middle-classes-compare
In short the claim is based on misleading claims. The gap is larger in the US because their is more wealth, the gap is smaller in Europe because their is less. Its easier to gain an extra thousand then an extra million and this is being used to claim that the US is falling behind when all data shows the exact opposite.
As for our healthcare, actually we pay half of or less, then what Canada pays. The difference is in the US you have the choice to pay in while in socialized healthcare you don't. Basically you claim its free but its not because its taken out in taxes and if you look at government spending (about 40%) for healthcare and then take the average income tax and take that (even though its the average of all taxes paid), and you find they pay substantially more then people in the US but since its automatically deducted they don't see it as a payment. Basically its an illusion. We also have seven times higher survival rates and a far superior healthcare system which is why europeans and Canadians both come to the US for healthcare but Americans almost never go to other nations for healthcare.
Same goes with homicides. We have "higher" rates only because we actually report them. In the UK for example they only count a murder if their was a conviction which means all the unsolved murderes are not on the books unlike in the US. They also count them by incidents in other counts meaning if three people died that is counted as one incident while in the US that would be counted as three murders. So when you account for that we are not higher then other nations.
As for growth, well we are the only nation in the world that has elected a minority person as president with the popular vote, that seems rather progressive in my opinion if no other nation in the world has done that. We let in more immigrants into our nation then any other, develop the most technology (or almost the most (I believe singapore has moved ahead of us on that)), developed the most cures and treatments and medical innovations in the world (70% of medical innovation comes from the US) etc. etc. So I think statistically we can say that is also incorrect.
@Ilikechili- when there is natural disasters anywhere in the world, who is on scene immediately to rescue and ptovide humanitar relief, and we are far superiorr with those efforts technologically with our advanced military? And Americans are by far the most generous when it comes to donating to financing those efforts. Who pioneered exploration beyond our atmosphere? Who is respinsible for ushering in the Information Age? Who came up with the technology for us yo even be having this very conversation? You, @ilikechili are very uninformed and void of any real facts About America, you just another short sighted know -nothing loudmouth... lol
americans think so but the rest of the world pity them. love the pictures by the way. not least because its written into American law concerning the flag that it cannot be worn as clothing but this is so often ignored whilst burning the flag is perfectly legal but that causes so much alarm
No. Every country has advantages and disadvantages. Subjectively one can think the US might be best, but to really make a statement about the best country one would have to have lived in all countries of the world. Every country is at least slightly different. And even then it is still subjective.
Best in what?
Covid cases? Gun shooting incidents and deaths? Or discriminating and bullying non-whites?
Actually wrong on all of that. As for gun shootings that is true we have more gun violence but notice the operative word is "gun" and not the violence. Thats because we are actually allowed to own guns to protect ourselves and many other nations don't have that right. However if we look at violence the US is not particularly violent we are just far more honest. For instance the UK doesn't even count a death as a murder unless its been solved, they also only count "incidents" i. e. if three people are dead through violence its considered one incident. In the US we don't do that because we are honest with our reporting.
As for discrmination, thats also stupid. Name me one other nation that has elected a minority as president by the popular vote (in the US that is the white vote) not once but twice? Just one. Trick question, their isn't any, only the US does that. Name me one other nation that makes immigrants legal citizens at the same rate as the US? Just one. Okay, fine, I'll make it easier, half as many as the US? Okay, I'll make it even easier, what nation makes immigrants legal citizens at a quarter of the rate of the US? Again, trick question not a single one. The closest is Canada at 20% of what the US does. The irony is that whites are belittle non stop in the US yet some how they are viewed as racists despite the fact that blacks in the US are 150% more likely to commit hate crimes then whites. Despite the fact that over 80% of all interracial violence and crime is commited by blacks against whites. Despite the fact that their is discrimination in hiring, promoting, and acceptence rates against whites to the benefit of non whites. Despite the fact that the top highest earning ethnic groups in the US are, in order, Indian, Filipino, Thai, and Jewish. Hell even Nigerian americans out earn most white ethnic groups.
Its almost as if you never bothered to verify any of your beliefs at all (because you didn't).
@hellionthesagereborn
You amused me. Your retorts just strengthens the fact that America is not the best country.
I'll give it to you, though, US is definitely honest, or at least comparably honest from other countries. I'll even agree with you if you say US is a unique country, there is definitely no other country quite like America.
What I'm amazed by is you still insisting on your weak point of views. If what you say is true, you are just admitting that US is still troubled by violent incidents. "not particularly violent" means there is still violence.
You went on to add "whites are belittled non stop in the US", "blacks in the US are 150% more likely to commit hate crimes then whites" and "over 80% of all interracial violence and crime is committed by blacks against whites" etc. You also mentioned the fact that there is "discrimination in hiring, promoting, and acceptance rates are against whites to the benefit of non whites". You have just proven to us that your country is very much troubled, that the system is so unjust and unfair towards whites. And how so, may I ask, that US is still the best, considering all the unfairness in your country that you have listed out?
Are Americans so stuck up and proud that they cannot even admit that there could be improvements to help better the lives of their people, that more can still be done? That the system could still be made better to make it fair and equitable for everyone? That maybe it does not have the best policies or procedures all the time?
Sure the country has violence, every single nation in the world has violence its just far less in the US. Your trying to argue perfection? Humans are not perfect, if we were we wouldn't be having these conversations now would we? Thats a stupid argument to make that because its not perfect it must be worthless.
Sure their are areas that could make the country better, we are already equal but we could be more equal by removing quotas so minorities would have to compete on the same playing field as whites do. We would have to convince the universities to stop discriminating against whites and Asians (currently in order for a white applicant to be seen equivalent to a black applicant they must get the equivalent of 380 points higher on their SAT score then a black applicant. For Asians its 400 because they are "over represented" i. e. work really hard to get into good schools.).
However our society is the most tolerant and generous of the entire world bar none. As I pointed out, you have no argument their.
As for the "troubled nation", sure, we have one comunity (the black community) that is causing a lot of problems and its causing a lot of problems due to its rampant fatherlessness. If we fix that almost all our problems go away. But again, your arguing that because the US has problems (which no sane person would ever deny) that this means its the worse country and thats simply not true. What country are you from? I can gurantee you that it has more problems and is far from perfect and is not even close to as tolerant as the US. So again, arguing perfection is arguing stupidity, nothing is perfect (we couldn't even define what a perfect society would even look like let alone manifest it).
So yeah, we are honest and no other nation is, we show the world as we are and every one else lies through their teeth, hide their problems (whether that be the rampant racism and social collapse that is going on in japan, the heroine epidemic in denmark, or the rampant suicide rates and drug abuse in the "happiest" countries in the world (nordic ones)), and then try to tear us down because they are to afraid to acknowledge the problems in their own society thus ensuring they never get fixed.
@hellionthesagereborn
I think you do not understand what I have posted. I have never said US is perfect or imperfect nor did I made the argument that it is worthless. I never said those words. I have also never made any arguments that US is the worst country.
FYI, I have been to the US, so I know first hand if your society is really the most tolerant and generous in the entire world. And I can safely tell you, it is not. This is not to say I hate America, I like the country a lot and I enjoyed my time there. Despite its flaws and imperfections, I held my trip in US to be endearing and charming. People would just get into fights and randomly shout at one another, and then just turn and leave. I find it amazing.
So before you go on your crazy rant, just take a moment, stop and relax. There is no competition here and you do not have to look at my words or everyone's else like a personal attack and insult. My point is, despite my sarcasms, that there is no best nor worst country.
@yucychan- what a creep you are. Read that sentence you posted, you really hit on some triggers for Americans, and now you say, “ I didn’t say anything bad”- but you loaded up just the right words to imply horrible things about America and Americans- with the authority of having visited America once. That’s just laughable, and you are being dishonest by playing dumb about your rhetoric. Gtfoh-
@Girther10
I don't have to imply those horrible things because those horrible things did happened. And I stand by my words. If you can't accept the truth, that's too bad.
US is an amazing country but if you are going to be arrogant and insist that it's the best country in the world, then I will be mean as well and thoroughly disagree with you.
No it is. It is the most tolerant by all metrics. Even surveys showed as much showing that the US and the west in general is the most tolerant and africa, the middle east, and asia are the least tolerant. This is a fact, you can argue all you want but you will be wrong.
As for the country being perfect, yeah actually that was your argument. You stated that I admited their were issues which some how proved what was being said, but in reality every nation has those issues and I was pointing out that as far as the US goes those issues are very small comparatively speaking. The only way one can sit their and claim its an issue is if they are trying to argue that the country should be perfect which again, would be moronic because no nation will ever be perfect, their will always be violence and corruption, but in the US those things are pretty rare (based upon statistical data so objective facts).
As for rants, this isn't a rant. Rant: peak or shout at length in a wild, impassioned way.
While it was at length, it was not particularly impassioned. The reason it was at length is because you gave a list of things that you claimed are unique to, or at least more common, in the US which are patently false. I provided evidence to show that this was not the case. Thats not a rant, thats a clear and concise argument using evidence and reason. Two different things.
What country are you from?
No, but the idea that it represents, of a representative democracy based on a constitution that primarily limits government powers, and provides lots of states with varying laws and cultures from people to choose from... that idea is the best idea for a nation that the world's been able to produce.
Each his own :)
Many will like living over there.
I don't.
The U. S. are best in bragging - for anything else, there are countries of better quality.
In my eyes there is no overall 'best country': it depends too much on the preferences of an individual.
🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Have you seen that coronavirus chart?
We are number one
😂😂😂
America is number one
🇺🇲😎😂
Hahahha
Statistically it is over all. Could be better, was better before all the socialistic policies and identity politics that have been used to destroy our society, but its still better then any other nation with the most personal freedoms as well.
Most people sadly don't know what made the USA the best country in the world. We lucked out with geography, we lucked out with philosophy, and we lucked out with independence. I don't think a free world is possible in the future without the US in a healthy existence.
if you would like to know more youtube "The United States' Geographic Challenge" by stratfor, and the 'age of enlightenment" It's impossible to understand what I'm talking about without viewing them.
yes and no. really depends on the factors you mean.
"America is not the greatest country in the world anymore" - The Newsroom 2012
Depends on what factors but it’s definitely up there on being one of the best countries
nah.. not at all, attractive people don't make a country great. It's, it's moral and leaders that do.
PLEASE IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS COUNTRY PACK YOUR BAG AND LEAVE NO ONE IS ASKING YOU TO STAY.
With all the hot white girls the country has? no thanks.
Sadly, no, because of the toxic ideologies pushed to the world by liberals, feminists, Hollywood, LGBTQ, BLM, etc.
I guess it depends on various factors including what the individuals think.
For most people, their own country would be the best.
For example, my favourite will always be india, my home country.
It depends on perspectives.
Its what im used to and where im most comfortable so its all i really know
Yeah, maybe... according to the gdp and income per capita at least I guess.. (maybe, not sure, probably... not sure... again)...
And has the nicest titties! Bravo on the array of pics!
