Cartoons - when do you 'outgrow them'?

I am 45 and have never outgrown cartoons as a whole. I still like movies like the Toy Story series, Despicable Me and Tangled. I also enjoy cartoons on TV such as The Fairly OddParents, Bugs Bunny and holiday cartoon specials.

Do you think this is odd?

Do you think there is an age that somebody should 'outgrow them'?

Is your boyfriend / husband or girlfriend /wife like this?

If so:

Does it irritate you, or do you just accept their love of this type of 'art' as part of who they are?

I know I'm not very old 17 in fact but I still watch cartoons like Looney Tunes, Spongebob, Yu-Gi-Oh

Now I still watch a lot of animation like South Park, Family Guy, Bob 's Burgers, nearly all animated movies I try to watch

I watch anime and read graphic novels

I don't think I will outgrow these, and want a girl who is hopefully into my interests, she doesn't have to be but it would be good sharing a hobby

What if you met a girl, really liked her to later have her tell you "It's them or me!".

My wife knows that I am a big kid, and there are certain things about me that are NOT going to change.

If there is an age, let me know; I'll make sure never to get that old. I'm still a big Bugs Bunny junkie, and always will be. Yes, I'm sure I've seen every one of them a few times now, but they're still funny! Wile E. Coyote's one of my favourites; he even caught the Road Runner, once! ...kinda.

I am with you on the Bugs Bunny cartoons. I have a few of the DVD's. There is nothing better than have a few beers and popping in 'Bully for Bugs' (the bull fighting episode). The original Pink Panther cartoons are also very classic.

I'm 22 and I still watch cartoons. I don't think its odd. I don't think people should "outgrow" them because they keep you refreshed and make you feel young again. I think people that think they are "too old" for something die faster, lol. I can watch pretty much anything as long as it's not the Disney channel.

You never ever outgrow them if you love them. IMO.

If my boyfriend watched these, and I wasn't really into them. I still wouldn't be bothered. But that's not an issue. I'm a Nickelodeon fiend. :)

I remember when Nickelodeon first started out back in the 90's. It was pretty bad. It really has grown into quite an entertainment channel. I still love The Fairly OddParents!

I love cartoons, whether it is family guy, the simpsons, American dad or the looney toons, scooby doo.

Why would you outgrow them? Especially anime and the sort.

A lot of cartoons for me are too silly, childish and such. But I don't judge others for watching them. Also, these are pretty much all American type cartoons, which are aimed at young audiences, or any other type which is aimed at young audiences. There are cartoons which are aimed at adults too, some of which I enjoy.

There's an interesting point. Many of the cartoons that come out of Dreamworks Pictures (Shrek and Kung Fu Panda) and Illumination Studios (who put out Despicable Me) are definitely more slanted towards teens and adults. The music used in Shrek came more from my teen years in the 80's.

You can't get enough of South Park or Family Guy.

Those are the only cartoons I won't stop watching till they're done making them.

There really is no age to stop watching cartoons, unless its like Powerpuff Girls or Dexter's laboratory. Those are just lame and No No's for adults unless you got a kid around its fine.

Any good quality cartoon will keep my attention. Of course, the Loony Tunes series is durable.

I havn't outgrown them. I LOVE them. Besides, not all cartoons are for children.

Never really got into them or the Ninja Turtles. Not saying they are bad - just never watched them much.
