Where do you get your news from? Should I unsubscribe from right-wing channels? What should I do?

DISCLAIMER!! These are my personal opinions pertaining to politics, I ask that you respect my opinion as I would respect yours.

I'm still young and learning, and I will admit that I was foolish to fully invest into the Right. In 2016 when I was only 17 I got really into politics and seeing how the Left was going insane, being offended by everything, trying to bring Communism, having very fringe political ideas, spreading fake news, etc, I joined the right thinking that they were the better side, and at the time they kinda were. I locked myself into the Right Wing echo chamber.

Lately, I've noticed that as the years went by, the Right has become the very thing they stood up against in 2016. They're constantly offended, they refuse to be open-minded to other ideas thinking their ideas are godly, they made this weird cult around Trump and they feel the need to defend his every action, and they also twist stories to fit their narrative and ignore stories that blatantly go against their narrative.

I've been subscribed to Right Wing YouTube channels for the last couple of years to get my information from, and I'm thinking of unsubbing. Those channels are: Paul J Watson, Next News Network, Brandon Tatum, Adam Calhoun, Sargon of Akkad, Lauren Southern, WalkAway Campaign, Conservative Twins, StyxHexenHammer, No BS, and Anthony B Logan.
I haven't been watching them lately anyway because I've noticed that they all regurgitate the same thing and tend to be full of shit sometimes (but not all the time).

But I don't know what to do or where to get my info from, it seems like media is a sea of liars.

I'm mostly looking to broaden my views and get out of the echo chamber. I am not leaving the Right to join the Left, I still think the Left is way worse than the Right. I don't really consider myself as Liberal or Conservative, here is my Political Compass:

Forgive me here, I am going to cheat a bit and provide my answers to two three questions that will answer your question:

1) Do you believe the American mass media is unfairly biased?

2) Which political party do you support?

3) Are you a conservative or a liberal?

All three answers were rated either "Superb" or MHO and appear under my "Nighdrot" nom de guerre.

The reason I offer these is because they address your experience. The era of an unbiased media was actually very limited in time and was the result mostly of the technologies of the era. American political parties are not ideological parties as you tend to see in Europe, but rather are lose knit coalitions of various ideological, demographic and interest groups that shift over time and thus you see them supporting positions that they once opposed.

Lastly, what Americans call "conservative" and "liberal" are - historically speaking - not so. Thus, they will sometimes take turns that seem to contradict where they ought to stand.

This then explaining your own discontents. In terms of the media, in the age of social media you are bound to find something to suit your tastes. It is really up to you and not a matter of great moment, so long as you view/listen/read critically and aware of the biases in your choices. This an obligation of any good citizen as George Washington - in a much more technologically primitive age - once said.

In terms of what you believe, that will be a tougher matter. You need to be aware of where the parties are coming from and the pedigree of your own ideas. It being not unlikely that you are as much the product of ideas of which you were not fully aware as not. This then explaining your own changed relationship to America's politics and thus its' media.

Bottom line, which media you choose is symptom and not cause - and as I say, not a matter of great moment. Your main obligation to be a critical and thoughtful consumer regardless of your media choices. Your first obligation, then, to a critical thinker who views things through a consistent and historically based prism.

Take care of that last point, and your media choice will solve itself.

I'm a conservative and I like Trump (though I don't defend his every action). I also took that political quiz and had a very, very similar result, but I know I'm not liberal. I have some stereotypically liberal views, but I'm more so conservative (I like to consider myself to be a more new-age conservative). So I wouldn't so readily trust that quiz.

As for the right-wing sources, I can't say I'm familiar with a majority of them. Brandon Tatum is generally okay, Anthony Brian Logan is pretty good, but not perfect. But I'm honestly not a big fan of most right-wing sources that I've come across. A lot of fox news is really abrasive and demeaning. Excluding his change my mind segments, I find Steven Crowder very intolerable (not intolerant, there's a major difference). I think the conservative twins are pretty great, as well, though very occasionally the way they go about their videos can be annoying. I guess what I'm trying to say, if you aren't a fan of many right-wing sources, that doesn't mean you're not right-wing (and yes, I know you already know that, I'm simply reinforcing that notion).

If you want some suggestions, Tim Pool (and his YouTube channels Tim Pool, Tim cast, and Timcast IRL) are good places to get your information. Tim Pool himself describes himself as a classical liberal. He has many left-wing positions, but he opposes the way the current democratic party runs their establishment. Many people like to joke that Tim Po is very slowly transitioning into a conservative. I can't attest to that, but it might give you more reason to watch his show. But for the record, he does a lot of research before he makes his videos, so whether you like his opinion or not, he is a very valuable source of information. Additionally, his videos (/podcast) has changed recently to start having politically diverse guests, anywhere from far left to conservative (I don't think he's had anyone far right on, but I doubt he would be opposed to it). But him and a few others just sit down, they talk about recent news as well as political ideas. I highly recommend Tim Pool, great guy.

Another news source I don't find intolerable and actually like is the Rubin Report. An ex-liberal gone conservative. Very civil.

I watch Tim Pool on the daily but I sometimes have doubts that he's actually genuine, after his brother exposed him I've been a bit wary, but I still think he's more honorable than most.

@abc3643 I have done my due dillegence. I've listened to the Hearings in Michigan and arizona and georgia, have you? I've watched the video that shows quite clearly that ballots were stuffed. I've watched the videos showing democrats forcing republican ballot watchers and counters out of the various facilities. I've watched the video evidence of UPS drivers hauling ballots illegally across state lines and heard their testimonies. I've listened to the USPS worker whistleblowers statements about backdating of ballots that they were ordered to deliver. When the left claimed that Donald Trump was a racist and used "hateful" rhetoric in his speeches I listened to his god damn speeches. You didn't, you didn't do any of this. I have done my due dilligence, more then any one else in this thread probably has.

You don't get to claim that 138 affidavits are not evidence when by legal definition they are considered evidence (ironic too considering your claiming its not evidence despite it being literally evidence yet the "russian collusion" hoax had ZERO affidavits and zero evidence but we had to be dragged through that shit storm for two years and to this day the left still claims that it was real. Due diligence, which you looked up (good!), is a legal term, but it is more than that: It means doing a reasonable investigation into the veracity of things before taking any action or making any assertions and not assuming that what you are told is the truth. Instead, look for the truth because truth is backed up with data and with tangible evidence.

Regarding the election.
Judge after judge - including GOP-appointed and Trump-appointed judges - have balked at Trump's team in court stating in legal terms: "Where is the evidence of widespread voter fraud?" Since none has been presented by Trump's legal team, their cases are being thrown out "with prejudice" meaning that the case is so bad that they are not given the opportunity to represent the case.

Below is one example from Judge Matthew William Brann who is a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. (He is also a Republican and was a GOP operative before being a judge ( www.judiciary.senate.gov/.../...cQuestionnaire.pdf ).

And this is just one example of doing due diligence in which I made an assertion, looked-up reliable sources, quoted those sources and/or excerpted their data.

For more due diligence, I would do the same thing for other opinions given in these cases.

But, they all come to the same point: Where is the evidence of this rampant and/or systematic voter fraud? The judges all want the Trump team to provide it and they can't. What they are providing is mostly unverifiable hearsay or, at best, spurious and anecdotal. So, the judges have no choice but to dismiss the cases.

And he is why:
Today (08 DEC) is "Safe Harbor Day".
Congress will recognize and cannot challenge any state's electors (and their electoral votes) if the state has its election results certified by the end of this day.
Almost all states have certified their elections now and, of those states that have, more than 270 of their electoral votes are going to Biden. Thus, he will become President and is the de facto President-Elect.

For formality...
On Monday, 14 DEC, the slate of electors in each state will cast their votes. Generally (except for ME and NE), the candidate that won the election in that state will have his party's electors chosen and they will vote for him. There may be "faithless electors" meaning that they will not vote for who they pledged to vote for. However, in many states, a faithless elector's vote may be a crime (and the Supreme Court ruled on this in the Spring). The Democrats will not have any faithless electors.
So, on Monday, the electoral votes will be cast and we will know that Biden is President-Elect. It all becomes official when, on 06 JAN 2021, a joint session of Congress will count those ballots and Vice President Pence will announce the winner of the election.

They are not claiming its insufficient. Most of these are going through hearings right now, hearings were democrats are trying to block every attempt to get signature audits and recounts and are actively shoving through certifications before everything has been taken care of. As for lies, I think of them as illusions, and they are unavoidable. The trick is to just keep gathering information from as many sides of the issue as you can which will give you a better picture of the whole thing.

I watched sargon for 5 years. I get my news from the daily wire but I would encourage you to get your news from different sources on both sides of the political aisle go listen to Ben Shapiro and then go listen to pod save America it's a good way to come up with your own perspective while listening to both conservative and liberal podcasts
