Interesting question. I expect it will die out at some point along with other European languages with a smallish number of speakers. But not anytime soon. I’m just pulling this out of my ass.

Only 75 million people speak Turkish. In a world of 7.6 billion people the difference between a language spoken by 75 million and 30 million is nothing. Do you think Turkish is a dying language?

It’s also spoken in Belgium, Suriname and in the Caribbean, plus Holland gets lots of immigrants.

It just matters if people want to learn it. Me I would like to learn Dutch I'd rather learn Dutch instead of German

Yeah no Flanders is never gonna be okay with speaking French. They’d rather separate from Belgium than speak French.

And proficiency in German is decreasing hard in the Netherlands, with fewer and fewer schools being able to offer it due to a lack of teachers in it. So nope
