If we vilify them, it only pushes them deeper into the toxicity. No different than vilifying other groups of people. I don't pity them or sympathize with them because they have the power to break from it, but it comes down to the individuals.

Some find the courage to break out of it, some don't and fall deeper. The biggest thing these guys lack are good friends, social acceptance and self esteem. These were kids who are socially awkward and took to the internet to vent and find people who could empathize with them. What came from it is only social awkwardness because they just stay online and never interact with real people who could help them.
