It’s not rude as long as you ask in an appropriate manner
Personal i feel ofended. My ethnicity have nothing to do whit who i'm and wher i whas born and live.
We belong to the country we are born in to it.
If u feel it awkward to ask him if he's chinese or Korean then stretch ur eyes sideways with ur fingers and ask him" is this ur ethnicity?"
that's racist and stupid af so fuck off pos
The way you ask can change the whole situation as well
It really depends on the context leading up to the question of whether it gets taken as rude or not
People ask me all the time because, I'm Serbian and most people think I'm middle eastern.
Maybe it's not rude
If he/ she takes it cool means
It is only rude when you assume that they are something that they are not.
No, you can always find a way around it to ask politely
No not at all just making conversation breaking the ice I’m Spanish and Italian.
You could ask where his family is from, though he might just say "Chicago".
For someone who gets asked that often, I find it not rude, but irritating after a while.
It’s not rude untill it doesn’t offend the opposite person
Personally I wouldn't be offended if someone asked about my ethnic background.
No, it's not rude at all. It arise as a result of your curiosity.
Pretty much unless it is relevant to the conversation.
Its not rude at all, it shows you're interested in them and their background. Makes for a Great conversation
No, people without inferiority complex don't find it rude.
No not at all I do it all the time
I’m 100% Swedish American
can you be 100% two things? So you're 50% Swedish and 50% American
No 100 percent Swedish I live in America I was born on a military US Air Force base in Portugal on the Azores Islands
ohhh I see, that's cool! I'm almost completely French but not quite
Cool
Not at all. It’s called having a conversation. The only people who would take offense are extremist progressive nut jobs.
It's not me by the way if anyone's assuming!
... lmao
No. I always ask people I don't assume.
I don't think it's rude
I get asked that all the time
It’s fine. Good luck 😊.
If you are not educated enough to know, don't expose your ignorance as he will likely be offended.
Educated enough to know? All I have to go by is his eyes. To a non eastern Asian person, it's hard to differentiate. And did you open your dumbass eyes and read the update? I asked him, and he wasn't offended. At all..
I don't think it's rude no.
no i believe its nice to know there background
It depends how you ask but no.
All depends on how you ask.
Not at all... if that is what you like...
It's a perfectly normal question.
Depends how you ask it. If it flows in the conversation and you're not being a dick about it then its probably fine
I'm not sure why his ethnicity affects whether you should date or not though...
I literally already said it doesn't, that I'm just curious. Why don't you read the updates that are clearly in your face.
That update literally says "what if were seeing if we should date"
You might not say it's a factor but the way you said it made it sound like it was...
and I quote "Not that his answer will change my mind about him, I like him a lot." genius of the year goes to...
If it doesn't matter, why even mention it?
I don't think it is rude
Asking is not offensive.
It depends on the situation
I don't see why would it be.
I'm from half Caucasian and half Turkish :):)
ok but answer the question lol
Yeah. You are extreme nationalist and racist
Lol 😂😂
I'm kidding 😊😊
Never not rude. You can ask. Everyone can ask that. Natural thing that plenty 😊😊
lmao I knew u were kidding
Of course. You are so smart a girl
Lol 😂😂
I'm fine with it
-Alien
All about how you go about asking
No
/
Noooo
and people who think that are stoooopid
It depends on the context
not rude but as long you don't racist
Depends what ethnicity mean to you
I find it rude and invasive
Why? Why is it rude to want to know about someone's culture and find out what it is? You'd have to know their ethnicity first in most cases.
Not to me.
No not at all
noope
