Girls keep secrets for 47 hours, is this true?

a british study of over 3000 women (age 18-64), showed that women can't keep a secret for over an average of 47 hours,( girls really you couldn't make it to 2 days...), the study also showed that

6 out of 10 women will feel guilty after sharing the secret,

8 out 10 womens will share the secret with someone who has nothing to do with matter/who is the closest person to them (usually an other woman)

4 out 10 women say they can't help it no matter how personal the secret is

it seems to me secrets to girls are the equivalent of watching p*rn for guys, longest I'v gone without p*rn... 47 hours lol.

So girls from the UK and allover the world, do you agree with this, explain whether it's a yes or no

I'm a guy, but girls are more social than guys, which is why, I'm guessing, they can't keep secrets for long. They are social creatures, and urge to bring the latest gossip or news to the conversation, even if they don't think they strive to be Miss Popular, they still wish to be the smart or interesting one, bringing interesting topics to a conversation.

It depends on the secret as well, I guess. Secrets about the pervy old man down the road wouldn't be a secret for long, but secrets relating to their lover or family would hopefully remain a secret for longer.

Regardless of the fact they choose to tell their best friend or not, that secret will still get around, blah blah, should still be considered a breach in keeping secrets to themselves.

I think you'll get a lot of this - girls and guys saying they can keep a secret for, well, probably forever. They won't think about the secrets they've already spilled, just important secrets that are generally very private, not just tidbits of information.

Voted B because it's partially true - as people are never exactly the same. Some people will, some people won't. Some can't even talk, so that rules them out more or less. Blah. :)

I can keep a secret. Like if you say "But don't tell anyone." I'm not going to. If you don't say that though I will probably tell someone who is not related to the matter or is closely related to me if the subject comes up and I don't think it will start any problems.

I think a big hole in this study could be not specifying what is a secret and what isn't. If more women thought that it was as big of a deal as the person with the secret, they probably wouldn't go and blab about it to other people. Many secrets kept aren't secrets worth keeping! Another problem is women who can't keep their own secrets. If you don't want anybody to know, don't tell anybody! It's not a hard concept. And some women who spill the beans have the permission of the person with the secret in the first place. So I don't think this study is as accurate as it could be.

yes I agree with this except I have lasted longer than 47 hours without telling a secret. The only reason I do it is because it's something to talk about. If I'm at work I'll share things about my friends who don't work with me and vice versa. A lot of my girl friends are already close with one another so anything they talk about with one of us basically gets shared around unless I've specifically been told to not say anything I won't to that circle of friends.

I don't know if I agree, don't have too many girl friends. But my opinion is girls who share too much are dumb. If a girl tells me a secret, I would never trust her and I get annoyed to listen. Unless she tells me her brother likes me or something ^_^

i can keep secrets I still have one, ps also it depends on how you spill the secret.. like I have been told something but was concerned about what the person told me and went to a friend he or she didn't know for advice..thats the only way I've ever spilled.

I've been told many secrets though I never re-tell mainly because I have a crap memory and forget in about 5 minutes :)

Secrets are important or sensitive information, and leaking that information creates drama...and a ton of women absolutely LOVE drama.
