Why is everyone easily offended?

Due to the world nowadays everyone is so easily offended. We have cancel culture that attack problems that attack problems that are really real.

So there are some things but everything is so politically correct now it’s kind Of hard to have a regular conversation sometimes.

I think people who feel say they are offended are using that as a way to say they feel threatened. Which isn't new, people have always had some kind of fear that the world as they know it will be destroyed. And the same is true now, if people see an opinion which could lead to something they don't like they get afraid of the possibility that it will grow into the worst thing they can imagine.

And I think another part is people who think fighting things that could be 'offensive' to someone in theory is just a good thing to do. They want to be righteous whether or not that is a serious issue. And the only way to tackle so many problems is just to say they are offensive or some other short comment online.

But it could also just be a desire for attention, people want to be the first one who said "that joke is sexist because not all women like makeup" than be just another person talking about legal costs in family law or something complicated. And as they want attention they exaggerate their feelings and or lie about events to get more people in on the outrage crowd.

Some opinions cause cognitive dissonance, even if they don't incite to violence but are questioning current state of social engineering and political agenda. State of cognitive dissonance causes often confusion and anger. People of such "dangerous" opinions are perfect targets for catharsis of this anger.
