Because America is too wishy-washy on mental health. No sane, law biding person wouldn't do crap like these idiots have done lately.
When you have a society where no one stands up to bullies, and in fact encourages them.. It makes sense that there would be shootings. Its sickening.
According to the FBI Americans used firearms defensively 1.5 to 3 million times in the last year. Imagine how much worse it would be if fewer Americans had guns.
If no one had guns well we are human we come up with other means of defence and murder.
Our news media glorifies them and makes them sound 100% worse. We have more drug o. d’s deaths than shootings. Vehicular homicides are higher than shootings.
Cuz we have a lot of guns, and way too much free time

Do we have shootings? You bet. Just a few years ago, one guy whose property he THOUGHT had river access (but did not) shot another guy who was boating who happened to have to take a piss in the river bank owned by the first guy. So, the first guy shot the second guy because he was "defending my rights".

There are oceans of incidents like this all over the country - mostly in red states where guns are a way of life and a kid gets his or her first gun and deer kill while still in the single digits of age. Every day, there's always some gun death that has nothing to do with gangs.
In fact, there are about 100 deaths EVERY DAY in the USA due to guns.

So, while gangs are responsible for considerable murders in cities, they are not the majority of gun deaths in the nation as a whole.
As I said one source of violence is gang violence. I didn’t say it resulted in deaths but violence. Also you would admit while a red state has limited (sometimes news worthy shootings), larger cities like Chicago and LA have double digit shootings EVERY weekend. It’s gangs, the mob, clubs, and frankly domestic violence which has become the norm. What do your stats say on number of deaths in larger cities vs smaller towns?
Larger cities always have more deaths, period. One reason is simply more people, so then a fair assessment is to look at per capita or population density.

I dont think that there is a single reason for these shootings but I do think that the media sensationalizes specific ones in order to implement gun control measures. As I mentioned they almost never mention gang shootings or inner city party shootings in the same vane as mass shootings.
I think that their is a certain kind of shooter who goes after schools because they want to kill as many kids as possible because it will cause the most outcry from the nation. Making schools Gun-Free-Zones has just made this worse.
I also think that the media coverage plays into some shooters' motives. They will be widely known after they kill a lot of people and the media covers it 24 hours a day
Then there are ideological killers, like religious, racial, ethnic motivated people. they are angry and want revenge
Then there is a group that has even more mental illnesses and feels persecuted or bullied by others
Don't forget about the shooter who gets fired and then comes back for revenge on everyone he hated
There are other reasons too like marital infidelity or hatred of the government or a corporation

Compared with my country with strict gun control, the US is fine.
If you remove the areas of the US with similar gun control, the US is great in that aspect.
