The borders are wide open now unless you are an American. If you are Guatemalan, Venezuelan, Mexican, Nicaraguan, etc., those rules about the border don't apply.

People DO obey the rules- that's why the pandemic is still going on. If they'd refused, it would've burned out by now. Covid isn

't like smallpox; it's particularly contagious and basically doesn't kill people unless they're dying of something else. Isolation can't stop a disease that crosses species borders so easily- that was made clear when it jumped species six times in three months.

If you prevent the spread, you delay herd immunity and lengthen the pandemic. "Following the rules" will ensure it goes on forever.
