Why is that a problem? You have choices, take the highway if you know you can't be that woman. I'm more surprised if he's traditional that he's going for a woman your age and not at least 5 years younger. It isn't that tough to find through the Eastern Orthodox. More conservative, younger women that is.

In a word babies. Your desire to have or not have them at your age and getting with men your age or older frames the future of the relationship from the beginning. That's not so with someone younger, or conversely someone older who no longer has that option if kids are not something desired by the guy.

There is no way in hell I'd start dating a woman in her 30's, on one hand she has kids and I have to worry less about her "accidentally" getting pregnant with mine. On the other if she doesn't I wouldn't be able to relax enough to have fun from worrying about holes in condoms, not trusting when told that birth control is in the picture, none of it.

One of my students was a Russian who immigrated as a kid in the early 90'd as a kid with his family.
