Hard to say since none of us have seen the evidence against him. In general though, wealthy and powerful people are often not held accountable by our justice system. Even if the evidence is there and they do indict him, his followers are extremely cultish. If you get a couple of them on a jury, they won’t convict him regardless of the evidence. They seem to desire him being above the law for some reason. This whole thing is an uphill battle but I do hope he’s held accountable if the evidence is solid. He’s no better than any of the other people currently sitting in prison for tax and bank fraud.
I agree if the evidence is solid he should be convicted. And I am a Trump supporter simply because of the good things I saw he did for our country and how much the media demonized him never reporting all the good things he did. But I would never want him to get away with any crimes like so many politicians do.
I also believe that a lot of his supporters wouldn't want him to get away with breaking the law. They just would have to see real legitimate proof beyond any reasonable doubt.
Also thank you for being a fair person that needs to see the proof. A lot of people hate him so much they don't care about a fair trial. And we all deserve a fair trial no matter what.
@PinkMichae You said, "I also believe that a lot of his supporters wouldn't want him to get away with breaking the law."
I beg to differ. His supporters are convinced that he didn't do anything wrong, and no matter what evidence is presented, they will continue to believe that. Read the comments from some of the more virulent Trumpers on this questrion down below.
@msc545 because there's no solid proof yet. Only accusations. No court of law has proven he's done anything wrong. So why should they believe he's guilty. And it didn't help so many watching the the left keep making up things about him and the bogus impeachments. That pissed a lot of people off because they impeached him for things Democrats did themselves. Total hypocrits.
And what's gonna happen when people watch a man continually get demonized? Either they are gonna believe what they are demonizing him for or they aren't. His tax returns were released months ago and still nothing. So until they have something real and not just a bunch of accusations made by people that hate him people should believe he's innocent until proven guilty. If you don't think so then apparently you don't care about do process. Look at all the accusations that have come out against Obama and Biden. But I'm not gonna call them criminals unless they are convicted by a court of law. I might have my assumptions but assumptions aren't proof and often wrong or unfair.
Excuse my typos as I was trying to type fast and go to sleep. Night.
@PinkMichae right now, he gets the benefit of the doubt as he absolutely should. He has not been convicted of anything as yet and he may not be. However - IF he is, his supporters won't accept that and will be screaming for years about the "unfair trial" - just as they think the election was "rigged". That was my point since they are already asserting that "he did nothing wrong" without knowing what if anything he will be charged with.
@PinkMichae I don’t want to see anyone railroaded on flimsy evidence and I’d like to think I have a fair and open mind. I’ll judge the New York investigation accordingly as evidence emerges. These type of cases are tough to prosecute anyway. That being said, I disagree with you that Trump supporters don’t want him to get away with breaking the law. I think most of them do. There was solid evidence in the Mueller report that he obstructed justice and his supporters didn’t care. There was solid evidence in his impeachment trial that he abused his power and obstructed Congress, yet his supporters celebrated when he was let off the hook. His voice is on tape pressuring Georgia officials to change the election results and his supporters shrug their shoulders and call the investigation a witch hunt. So I don’t believe there is any amount of evidence that will sway them into holding him accountable. His following is that cultish. Trump said it himself, he could shoot someone on the street and he wouldn’t lose any support. That’s a dangerous mindset for people to have but here we are.
Oh and I never said Trump never said stupid things. Never heard him say he could shoot someone in the street and never lose support but I could see him saying that as he tends to float his own boat. But a bad personality isn't a crime. It just shows that no matter what he is found innocent of people are gonna say he's still guilty. Like you just did. So there's a cult of haters out there against him as well. I'm not saying the man is innocent but until it is proven he did anything wrong in a court of law he's not guilty.
@PinkMichae Innocent until proven guilty is the standard in a criminal court. My point is that there’s strong evidence of criminal conduct that he has skated on so far and his supporters are happy with that. Is there really any evidence you would accept? His supporters won’t even accept that he lost the election, even though the evidence shows that he did. We’re supposed to believe they’d accept any kind of trial result? I’m not buying it. I think there’s sufficient evidence that he’s committed crimes but wealth and power has shielded him, so far anyway, from consequences. The tax case is completely up in the air. None of us know any details yet and he gets the benefit of the doubt until we do.
@PinkMichae That's because he hasn't been IN a court of law yet for the crimes he's accused of due to his assertion of executive privilege, and the DOJ's "policy" or not indicting a sitting President. There is an abundance of evidence against him and his companies on the business level, and I've no doubt it will come out and end in indictments. Then there's the whole phone call to Georgia thing. Then there are those who will be subpoenaed.
I agree with msc545 that his supporters are all completely blind and willing to disregard any and all wrongdoings by their hero. Trump can not "possibly" be innocent of every single accusation against him, especially considering all the honorable people who levied them versus all the criminals who ran to his aid in support. But, innocence until proven guilty still reigns, and we'll see what happens.
Unlike you, I see absolutely NOTHING good for this country that came from his Presidency, unless you consider enriching the already rich a good thing. Or lowering the bar of decency of the office, the telling and repeating of thousands upon thousands of falsehoods, alienating most every ally, failing every major disaster relief effort, completely denying Covid, and undermining Democracy as a GOOD thing. Such is, and shall be, his legacy.
@PinkMichae That his taxes were released months ago, simply means that it is part of the evidence now. They are collecting evidence, and have not taken it to the grand jury. Through testimony under oath, they will get more evidence. That doesn't mean they will prosecute, but it's clear that they have found evidence that makes them think they likely have a case that can be prosecuted. If they didn't think prosecution was likely, they would not have impaneled a grand jury, and use the resources and time that they have.
A grand jury will indict a ham sandwich, so...
Indictment is very different from conviction

There is an expression in the legal practice that is quite apropos. "An accomplished prosecutor can convince a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich.". And in NYC, it should be even easier.
Many prosecutors have political aspirations and I especially suspect that this particular prosecutor had such dreams. Indicting Trump will be a feather in the cap for anyone who wants to later run for office as a Democrat.
"Indictment" is equivalent to impeachment; it is not a conviction. I doubt that Trump will be convicted but I have not seen the evidence and that will be for others to decide. On the meanwhile, this certainly distracts attention away from all of the problems of the Biden administration.
But, of course, political motivations play NO role in this, do they?
politics is corrupt, i finally woke up and both the democrats and republicans are evil, unfortunately majority of you guys were taught at a young age to choose a side and hate, is that normal? Obama could rape a woman and get away with it, Trump could rape a woman and get away with it. The stories and information I have read about past presidents, including Biden's history is disturbing. For those who have died or will one day and face their creator, God will ask them why they committed acts of evil. This whole business of foreign invasion and wasting money on war and giving billions of dollars to Israel is fucking stupid in my opinion. For anyone reading this question who isn't Jewish, why do you care about Israel so much? If the answer is Israel is America's ally, well wouldn't it wiser for America's government to help the American people. But one day this capitalist, wahabbi/zionist agenda will collapse. I know someone will read this and get mad, i'm sorry (sarcasm) that people were born off lies. I have a right to say this because 1) I have a degree in political science, 2) I have a masters in public policy, 3) I am not taking sides and calling out the disgusting cesspool of the culture (social, economic, political, etc) is why the American will collapse one day. America is divided, Americans are killing each other and people are fed up. Empires don't last forever, they all collapse. If people don't have the heart to even care that the US military continues destroying Syria and Iraq and many other countries, karma comes back for killing innocent people. People can read this and give my comment a thumbs down and that's fine, I love dislikes, I encourage people to dislike this comment.
I don't think he's going to be indicted. It's true that his presidency was a disaster and that he deserves to suffer the consequences of his actions, but then again he's rich. When you're rich, you're powerful so I guess nothing is going to happen to him.
"but one matter that’s brought millions of people together of late is the shared fantasy of seeing Donald Trump actually suffer consequences for the first time in his life and live out his twilight years in prison, deprived of creature comforts like Diet Coke, bronzer, and a cell phone on which to call into Fox News—contraband Eric or Don Jr. would have to smuggle in on visiting day." - 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You just made my day!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Trump deserves to be indicted, convicted, and locked up for all the bullshit he's been doing, but it probably won't happen. He'll lie and bully his way out, like he always does. He was impeached twice, and nothing happened. He owes cities all over the country money for holding his rallies, and hasn't even paid these cities for the 2016 rallies, let alone the 2020 rallies. He pays off Stormy Daniels during his time as president (imagine Bill Clinton doing something like that). He gets away with everything!
If your gunna mention Trump how you did in the update you might as well add the Kennedy family, Clinton's, and pretty much every Dem president in the last, yes Obama too, who apparently let his wife be victim of racism the whole 8 years (see the agent that came forward with it all). Funny how Dems proclaim how righteous they are but then blast hate and death upon those who don't share their views... That's the backbone to everything they do HATE. Everything is discriminatory, "disproportionate ", micro aggressive, be offended by it all! They'd have no strategy if it wasn't for HATE and modern day segregation.
No because he hasn't commited any crimes. Just because the left is trying to shake down and destroy literally anyone associated with him, doesn't mean its legal or that they have anything on them, they just want to send a political message which is "don't fuck with the system, don't fuck with the deep state, don't fuck with democrats or we will destroy you and every one you have ever loved.". Thats all this is and is why even trumps lawyers (many of which where democrats) have had this same treatment, its why Gulliani has been shaken down, and why literally every one associated with trump has been attacked by the current political establishment (due to the lefts extreme corruption and power hungry nature. Trump scared them and they don't like that so he and every one else must be punished.).
There is a good chance that Trump will be indicted. That's because for the prosecutor to go as far as a long investigation, followed by a grand jury, indicates that they have found something that they think is worth prosecuting. That doesn't mean that they will, because they will learn more from the grand jury testimony, that may change their mind.
It's not that Trump can't lose, 2020 proved that.
However, I don't believe you can truly stump the Trump.
Clinton was guilty and suffered no consequences. He's right wing so he's a bigger target the the Republicans lack as much influence right now as Democrats. However, it is incredibly unlikely that anything will happen to him... unless he tries to run in 2024. I believe they're trying to ensure that he won't or practically can't.
I think the pathological fascination leftists have with criminalizing and jailing a political figure when so many of theirs are corrupt and are more likely to have committed crimes themselves is pathetic. But what's really pathetic is the abuse of power by the NYDA's office.
STILL this endless obsession with "we'll get him this time, reeeeeeeeee!!!" Meanwhile, Hunter was caught guilty as sin of being involved in some really illegal porn. And... nothing. And the Tide Zombies cannot be made to care.
Trump didn't crush the serpent's head when he had the chance. Now, he's irrelevant. I'd call that a fair punishment.
I hope so. And I hope they've got enough evidence to show the world just what this guy is really like. And how he has taken so many people and companies down over the years by cheating them and filing for Bankruptcies , and not paying off his debts.
He's really not that rich anymore. He's losing money everyday. And his businesses are going under. Look at all the Hotels that are taking his name off the front, they're disgraced, and some of his Golf Courses and Resorts, closing. He'll be filing for more bankruptcies. The Courts need to start refusing his filings.
I don't care what happens to him now that he lost the election. Besides, he's touring further through rock bottom of his own free will if you know what I mean. All Biden has to do is focus on ridding America of COVID and we'll truly start being back on track.
Sadly I don’t see it happening unless something major happens
Seems likely. He's never believed that rules applied to him.
The trump org, and possibly trump himself will definitely be indicted. The prosecutors in NY wouldn't have turned their civil case into a criminal investigation and brought in heavyweight prosecutors and investigators if there was nothing there.
The legal actions they have taken in the past haven't worked. Regardless of whether or not they try to indict him, I'm not sure that they will be able to make a strong case for him to face any consequences. The Dems really messed up their impeachment attempts. I'm not sure that this will be any different.
CORRECTION: The pussy Republicans really messed up the impeachments by caving to their brain-dead base. Trump isn't the future of anything and the GQP should be ashamed of themselves. They only stand for lies now. And for that they shall pay. They will suffer for their immoral actions for decades to come. Trump incited an insurrection. It doesn't get any worse than that.
@filmguy93 out of curiosity, what runs through your mind when you realize u r a hopeless doof?
@filmguy93 I'm wealthy... and hot. :)
@supercutebutt I’m glad to hear it. Are you in college at this point or has covid put that on hold?
Seems like his $80 million tax blunder already linked will get some kid of trial. But we all must know Presidents skate above the law on thin ice.
It will be nothing because it's nothing.
It's just hearsay from the people who brought us "Saddan has weapons of mass destruction" bullshit and many others.
Trump was protected by a "jury" that didn't care about the facts, hearing the evidence, or the country, as evidenced by their behaviour since the election where they've not forcefully denounced Trump's lies, which they should have been doing since December at the latest.
You really think anything Trump said about the virus coming from a lab has been proven?
Read some history:
www.washingtonpost.com/.../
I hope so!! That would send a message that no one is above the law.
In this country a rich white man can get away with any crime
there's so called "immunity". in the western world, politicians won't be punished for their actions. deal with it.
Wow must have tons of evidence if it has only been two years and they are going to hear about evidence three days a week for six months. 🙄
Trump is a piece of shit. He was never worthy or capable of the office.
You and few socialists believe that but the 60% that really voted for him don't
News flash - 60 plus court failed court cases and numerous recounts say otherwise...
The U. S. once had a charming procedure:
drag him to the next tree and hang him.
If you guys do so: the rest of the world will applaud.
Why is everyone so pussy with Trump?
:) I was provoking only :) - However: It appears to me that some guys are 'touched' a lot less soon than others.
Maybe, but he won't be convicted because he didn't break any laws.
For what crime exactly?
I don’t think he is a bad guy. He just have no sexual morality. Besides he is horny old man he is ok
Who really cares it shows the left how screwed you all are. Smiles
The Democrats have been trying to nail Trump for the last 6 years.
If he was guilty of something he would have gotten nailed by now.
What is the crime? Usually you indict someone AFTER a crime has been alleged not, " We'll indict him and give out a crime later.
America doesn't send rich white men to prison.
He will be raped in prison
That’s a as pretty racist thing to say.
For what it’s worth, I’m an anarchist and I tend to get along better with people of cultures outside of my own than I do with other white people.
This has nothing to do with my race, and everything to do with the actual legality of what happened.
I don’t dislike anyone based on race, I just prefer experiencing different cultures
Eventually but maybe not this year.
Personally, I don't care one way or the other.
Hurting feelings isn’t illegal.
Sorry I'm English, what's going on over there?
The reality of the situation at hand here is that media outlet ratings, specifically news and politically themed stations are watching their ratings absolutely tank. Through information suppression via these same outlets a President that appears to have significant cognitive decline was elected and now these outlets have nothing to talk about. Since their ratings are tanking so bad they are trying to bring the former President back into the news in an effort to garner attention and rage from their viewers. There’s a ton to unpack around the state of the US but the important thing to understand is that the media is trying to start a civil war for ratings and they’re working to pin it on the Republicans and Trump as the ringleader. There’s quite a bit of misinformation being spread around via biral sound bites and they’re saying that trump’s language and vulgarity are somehow a crime. I’m not going to pretend to be educated on or knowledgeable about speech laws in England, but herein the US simply being a dick is not only not illegal, it is fundamentally protected by the first amendment.
If you are interested in getting more specifics you can check out Tim Poole on YouTube or Steven Crowder on Spotify; neither of them are particularly non biased but you can get a good grasp of what is going on as they do a good job of not trying to make their points emotionally charged.
@DeltaCharlieEcho You are not qualified to diagnose "significant cognitive decline".
Do you even watch the guy when he speaks? I haven’t heard a single coherent, complete, sentence from him since he took office.
It doesn’t matter though, he’s not the one calling the shots anyway.
@DeltaCharlieEcho As I said before, You are not qualified to diagnose "significant cognitive decline" no matter how much you watch him. You literally have no idea of the meaning of what you think you are seeing. Considering I do this for a living, I think I know a bit more than you do.
Gosh I hope so
He should be, but he won't be.
Yes it makes sense politically
Indicted for what? He hasn't broken any laws.
What has he done to be indicted over?
So you don’t know any possible examples?
I mean... you’re not point at anything he’s done to be indicted for. So, if some people are wanting him to be indicted for... nothing in particular apparently, then that makes it seem quite tribal.
Why aren’t you listing anything then?
What who does what when they power? Biden is in power. What are you taking about?
Okay, well on that charge, to answer the original question, I doubt anything will come of it. MSNBC made a big deal about getting hold of his taxes a year or two ago and found that he overpaid on taxes. It really seems like he'd have all his bases covered in that regard -- unless there's something else off the books, which seems doubtful, but okay I guess we'll see.
He allegedly artificially decreased his net worth when it came time to pay taxes, and increased it artificially when he wanted loans. The first thing is tax evasion, and the second is bank fraud. Both are federal crimes. If the government gets his accountant, Allen Wisselberg, to turn over and talk, he is fucked.
I don't understand. It's legal take out loans to decrease your net worth, and net worth isn't taxed anyway. How does that work?
So what did he need to take out a >10B loan for?
If Trump is indicated it will spark a civil war.
Too many stupid liberals on GAG.
this guy seems protected by satan, himself.
On what grounds?
He will be re-elected in 2024.
0% chance.
@supercutebutt The state I live in is ground zero for moonbats and even here I drive around town with the Trump stickers on my truck and people are already honking and giving me the thumbs up sign. A lot of the mail in ballot fraud will be stopped and if Trump runs again he will win.
There was no fraud, dude. It's lies. Trump's entire life is based on bullshit. His downfall will be hard and I am looking forward to it. I just hope you didn't waste all sorts of $$$ donating to that thieving clown-man.
Obsessed.
yeah
