Chinese government officials claimed that the virus was developed in an Army bio lab based at Fort Detrick. As much as I don't trust the Chinese government, I trust our government and our government media (AKA mainstream media) even less because they have proven they lie even when the truth fits better. All I know about the reliability of the Chinese government is what I read and hear from our lying government media which obviously cannot be believed.

Sovereign immunity automatically kills off virtually any possibility for suing another nation. And even if you can sue them, they have no obligation to pay anything, as they cannot be subjected to foreign courts.

And for the record, they could easily then sue other countries. Case in point, a case was in the SCOTUS to allow Americans to sue Germany for holocaust-related theft. But it was basically clear that if that would be allowed, the Germans could allow people to sue the USA for e. g. slavery for dozens of trillions of dollars.
