BLM is literally pushing racism, segregation, and more. It's not conservatives, nor has it ever been.
It was a Republican that ended slavery, while southern Democrats implemented "Jim Crow" laws to discriminate against blacks. It was Democrats who started the KKK, and made up the vast majority of its membership.
It's the cities that have been Democrat-controlled that have the most dangerous neighborhoods, worst race relations, worst police relations, and highest murder rates - and. they affect minorities - especially blacks - far more. And the left does not care.
BLM/Antifa riots have destroyed a number of cities over the last year, including lots of minority-owned small businesses, and have driven out stores like Walgreens and Wal-Mart, making it far more difficult for people, especially the elderly, to buy food or pick up meds, and minorities get hit the hardest. But these rioters are having their charges dropped by leftist DAs so the can go riot some more.
BLM leaders have said in interviews that they aren't interested in the larger plight of blacks in America (largely due to leftist policies) - they only care about black people's interactions with non-black police. Essentially, they only care when they can push the racism angle - which they assume is the cause of all problems, despite having virtually no evidence of that.
The left wants you to believe that everyone (except black people) are racist, and that race is the reason for all conflict. Does that even seem remotely reasonable?
Racism in the US has been on the decline for 150 years. Yet, suddenly, it's our biggest problem? As a minority who spends a lot of time in Oakland and Richmond, California, I don't see it My black friends don't see it either. But wealthy white students at Berkeley seem to think so, because their professors tell them so.
BLM had nothing to do with it. Trump's election has made racists believe their behavior is acceptable, or will go unpunished. They are wrong, and if they aren't self-employed, they are likely to become unemployed.
Racism has been on a steady decline in the US, as more people are getting educated on the matter. The reason it seems so large today is because, for one, the attention has been focused on the most radical, far-right leaning racists, so the acts seem more violent and prevalent. And two, BLM and other organizations that appeal to a liberal mindset have pushed the notion that anyone who even so much as looks at a person of a different color weirdly is racist. The people involved use tactics like manipulation and guilt to try and convince people that they hold racist tendencies and viewpoints, and because of the associated stigma, most people will cave.
Unfortunately, there's also the propaganda that only white people can be racist, which makes it socially acceptable for other races to attack people based on skin color.
These radicals may be a minority in the whole movement, but their strong commitment often means they gather power and influence quickly.🤷

It has since Obama became President because the white racists just couldn't believe that we had a "n*gger president". That upset them so much, they got vocal about it. Unfortunately for them, in 2012, Romney was the candidate for the GOP. He was actually a good candidate too, but he blew it and Obama wasn't bad, so Obama got re-elected. This is why, in 2016, it was relatively easy for Trump to be the nominee. All the others were Romney-esque or, as in the case of Cruz, even more of a dick than Trump and a clear weasel. So, Trump was the icon for the white racists - he advocated the birther conspiracy, after all.
Anyway, that's they key:
Obama becoming president energized the white racists because they felt threatened that their world is coming to an end.
Find better friends. Your "friend" shouting racial slurs alone, and you're able to mourn their passing. If you're in the car withe this "friend" you're guilty by association, and when they take exception to the comment the bullets they fire because the last time a car of white people shouted that they felt a little less safe until your "friend" gets shot at in what they perceive as self defence.
The bullets don't care who was shouting.
The person of colour afraid for their life because its what they've lived with day in, day out for years just sees a car full of white supremacists coming to kill them. So they defend themselves.

Probably. When you've got a massed group claiming that the color of your skin automatically makes you racist and morally inferior, and a media and political establishment more-or-less agreeing with them, most people are going to start questioning just what's so bad about being racist. Some are going to figure that you might as well go ahead and do it if you're going to get in trouble for it- they won't actually harm anybody, but they'll shout and honk, and eventually start to believe it, if left unchecked. I don't know how intentional it was, but it's rather a master stroke on the part of the anti-racism crusaders who came to fear they'd have to get real jobs if racism ever finished dying its slow death; now there'll be a need for them forever.

I think it has more to do with trumpism and the "anti-pc" trends that went with it. People were more comfortable speaking the "quiet parts" out loud. He emboldened racists to be much more bold.
Some whites probably see it that way, but they haven't been the ones who have been historically oppressed, so of course they're more annoyed at the latest 'insurrection.'
Racism never disappeared in USA, it simply went underground after they lost during the civil rights era. Now when they feel under threat again after a BLACK man of all things managed to become president and the GOD EMPEROR OF HUMANITY DONALD J TRUMP made them feel its publicly acceptable to be racist again.

Racism has always been around, there has just recently been a spotlight on it. But I live outside of Portland Oregon and back in the early nineties there was a murder of an Ethiopian national student who was killed by Neo-Nazi skinheads that garnered a national spotlight but when the trial was over, the media basically put it back in a box and didn't bring it up until recently.

For staters, BLM is racist so obviously the presence of BLM is bringing that. But furthermore, by making the conversation about race and posing as the face of black people, they create the racism by making black people seem bad.
