Well first and foremost, I would like for them to stop enforcing illegal "laws". We have a constitution, any law that violates it is itself illegal (like ALL gun laws). So I would love to see that first (technically they are suppose to do that but they don't). Second, yes substantially more funding and a larger police force.
Third, More training, not because I think they are evil or bad but because the greater their training the greater the probability they will survive, the more likely they will be able to react quickly and effectively in any given situation, and the more training they have the less they will have to depend on lethal methods (not that they shouldn't have them, only that they should be a last resort which if your not given proper training, the only thing you have to even the playing field is a gun).
Fourth the return of billy clubs. People bitch and whine about them but the fact is they where a less dangerous tool then guns are, why some one would demand that they get rid of the billy club and instead rely on a gun is beyond me (they tried to argue the same thing with tasers when those first came out. They bitched and whined that they use tasers to often, so what is the other option? Guns, they use guns more often. Its idiotically stupid.).
Fifth, more psychological counciling. The fact is we have more resources at our disposal and more training for soldiers who do short tours (relatively speaking), yet police officers go out and deal with criminals every single day for decades. Their is a reason why suicide rates are higher amongst police then most proffesions and why they have some of the highest divorce rates as well. Your put into bad situations with minimal means of dealing with it (for the record I think soldiers should get more psychological care as well).
Sixth, more police on the force so they are not constantly working double shifts, this will also help in reducing stress and other issues. I don't know of any studies about it, but I would bet that the double shifts and the lack of time off almost certainly increases not just negligence problems but also greater aggression in police officers. Their is a reason why soldiers do tours, its because after about six months the high stress starts to negatively effect performance. Police while they may not be in as high a stress situation are still in significantly high stress situations and yet they do it day in and day out. In addition I would imagine its something along the lines of care taker burn out, dealing with assholes and other peoples messes all the time eventually burns you out until you snap. Down time is vital. This could also be used for scheduling i. e. four days on and a couple of days dedictated to the officer training and/or paper work that way their is some variability and low stress work (though I am not familiar enough with police work to say whether or not this is a viable option though I think it should be looked into).

We need to get rid of the hot heads and tailor the recruiting towards logically driven people with a calm temperament and thick skin. Arrogance and the idea that you must come out on top of every verbal altercation is a waste of resources and gives power to the citizen opposing them. Arrogant people are easy to manipulate. If someone is yelling at you, and you yell back, they’re winning. They got you to lose control of your emotions. While everyone I’ve worked with had been professional, I’ve seen a couple of guys who just needed to leave.
Putting people down with rude or overbearing vocabulary and body language to create an aura of authoritative presence isn’t always the way. Simply listening to people in a way that shows you care and sympathize with their situation will almost always yield a positive result to your benefit. Know how to exit politely because tweakers like to ramble lol.
Here’s an example… If a detainee just got in a fight, and he’s sitting on the curb hooked up, he wants to talk. Trust me. If you go in there with an attitude when you interrogate him, he’s going to immediately shut down. If you approach him by kneeling down to get on his level, look at him and ask him how’s he’s feeling, he’s going to immediately open up. If he starts yelling about the other person in frustration, hear him. Listen. Repeat what he said back so he knows you hear him. He’ll calm down. Tell him things such as “Yeah that would upset me too. I hear you.” People who are emotional can be very malleable.
Now you got a clear picture of the story with no lies. Now you know exactly what action to proceed with. It’s not just being “nice”. I’d describe it as being calculated. If I had ego, I’d tell him to shut up and shove him in the back of the cruiser. I only get half of the story at that point.
I think more of law enforcement needs to drop the tough guy ego and approach situations in a calculated and methodological way that aligns with human psychology. Criminals aren’t very smart. It’s fairly easy to get what you need out of them to perform well in the field.
My FTO loved my style. A lot of other deputies didn’t. The proof is in the pudding though. Had little to no complaints, solid and detailed reports, and worked through our call log faster than most.
More transparency with the public regarding body camera footage and what officers have had what violations and the punishments.
Better training.
Independent checks and balances on officer conduct.
Get rid of this blue line, gotta protect my mates, bullshit.
No more of this “oh it’s only a few rotten apples” crap. If you see rotten apples in the barrel, and you don’t remove those rotten apples, then you are the problem too.
Get rid of the military style crap. You’re cops. You don’t need grenade launchers and MRAPS.
Make them live in the areas they will patrol.
Etc. etc.
Them getting a pay raise. They deserve it even more so now with the constantly painting a target on their back amd stirring up race baiting bullcrap. They need a massive pay raise.

I would like to see the educational requirements increased to a four year degree and that would certainly require an increase in funding.
I'd like to see cops go back to the "protect and serve" idea as opposed to treating all citizens as potential threats.
Cops used to treat people with civility and respect. They didn't look like Robocops or act like thugs.
If they were arresting someone, they told the person that they were placing them under arrest and to place their hands behind their back. Then they would handcuff them. Simples.
Nowdays, cops are trained to use take down techniques, even on small, unarmed, non-threatening women and compliant people. They don't even seem to know how to handcuff someone unless the person is flat on the ground with three cops kneeling on them and hurting them while shouting "Stop resisting!" Fucking pussies.
I don't support cutting funding, but I tend to think the police have plenty of funding. Unfortunately, the funds are spent on increased militarization. You'd think cops are soldiers in Afghanistan. What has changed other than the kind training they receive? Americans aren't any more dangerous or violent than they were before. When the whole defund the police thing came out, that saying just seemed like a bad idea. Someone explained what it truly meant, that they take part of police funding to have therapist or whatever go with police on calls and stuff.
I am 100% against defunding the police in fact they need MORE funding... however I have no issues if they want to start a different program. Where rather than calling 911 for help they call a different number for some situations where a therapist or counselor or whoever goes out and tries to talk them down and whatever. Things that people think cops would just shoot first and ask questions later on.
This way all those people who call 911 cause their kid is fighting with them and has a knife, who says they never would of called had they know the police would of shot them when the kid charged the police with a deadly weapon can call a non police response to talk their kid down.
It would either have to be funded by taxes or they could make it usage based, when you call they respond then send you a bill... like an ambulance ride. No one gets a free ambulance ride to the hospital.Trust me when I tell you and this is from experience, mediocre cops are the root of corruption and once that corruption sets in there is no removing it.
By defunding cops you're basically creating Gotham city "before" Bruce Wayne decides to be Batman. A place where everything and everyone is for sale.
And if you think a cop using a bit of violence to enforce law and order is bad imagine a criminal beating a guy half to death and no one around can do a thing?
Cops are not perfect but they are the lesser evil. At least with cops you can always try complying and not making their job harder than it already is. With criminal no matter what you do you're getting hurt.We need the following:
- Require a college degree in a relevant field (criminal psychology)
- Require at least a purple belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu. Teach offers which holds are dangerous vs. which ones are effective at restraining a suspect.
- Mandated body cams. (Unless the officer is using the bathroom)
- Pay them very well if they successfully meet all the requirements. You want to recruit the right people
- Give psychological “decompressing” training for officers who get jaded. Some officers start taking mental shortcuts after they deal with so much crap.
- Make new uniforms that are bullet resistant.
- Hold our fucking mass media accountable by giving only immutable facts about particular incidents. Quit fixating on race.
- Invite more middle school, HS kids and community leaders to police forces to show them how the training works and what cops have to deal with.I'd like to see them with less responsibility. Only crimes and keeping the public safe. Decrease money to them but decrease responsibility also. There is no reason for an armed response unit to be deployed when there's an unarmed autistic person flipping out. That's what mental health services are for, if they were funded.
The way things are going the EMTs and paramedics and fire brigades will shut down and the police will add fire responsibility to their ever growing list of areas they get asked to handle.Hold them accountable first of all. I've seen so many police vehicles do the same exact thing that they give tickets for I have it on dash cam as a matter of fact I bought a dash cam because it's getting tickets that were just from police who were police and for profits. If they Trump up the tickets, while you're guaranteed to just plead guilty because of the inconvenience to just one of them at least. So doing that there you go giving the local town or city wherever you're at like a hundred bucks plus the court costs. Now if we are found not guilty because we all have video proof of it the weekly cross back like the time we missed to work? No we don't! Hold them accountable I say
You have to start by stopping these dumb ass DAs who do things like refuse to press charges on legitimate felonies; it makes incentivizing police to do their jobs next to impossible. After that happens, I'd like to see cops trained a hell of a lot better than they are in hand to hand fighting.
When you get down to it, the problem with American cops is that we don't train them well enough and then arm them too heavily to do their jobs safely without resorting to that deadly force. Cops need to be trained to proficiency in a blend of Jujitsu and Krav Maga. How can we be shocked when civies get blasted away when we hand an overly powerful weapon to someone who recognizes that it's safer for him to fire his service weapon than get into a up-close-and-personal encounter with a perp? It doesn't make any sense.I don't think they should be able to commit the same crimes they arrest other people for. For example if I want to point a gun at someone I will get arrested for brandishing a firearm. But it's okay for them to point their gun at someone during a traffic stop because they "fear for their life"Even though the person is complying completely. But when I do it if it's justified it has to be a "reasonable" fear for my life they tend to ignore the reasonable part. Even though the person is complying. I've seen video after video of this on YouTube, and have experienced a similar situation myself. They need to be held to the same standards as every other citizen and if they fear for their life it needs to be reasonable fear for their life or they should be arrested and charged just like everybody else. They're basically the worst gang in my city.
None of this would even be a conversation if the shooting victims would have been white.
Obviously the Kamala administration is trying to federalize all cops, and as usual, she's using blacks as pawns in her scheme.
As for your question...
Two cops and one dog in EVERY cop car.
And LOTS of cameras showing every angle.Well I don't know if it is just remember our what the real deal is but I heard the China bombs Guam and we were in a cyber war with them basically and once again I don't know if it's true or just rumor but they want to control the money of the world and if they do that then they control everything but I heard that if that was the case the New World Order they would have their own police force is that just don't believe in that I don't care what it takes but in my city I want our men and women of the police force to stay right where they're at they were raised here most of them anyway and if anything's did ever happen I want our people here I don't want any new world order police force here so you probably hear more than all of us what are your thoughts on All the Above
Better training. Better choice of personel. It would require increasing the funding. Now there were at least 2 cases in the past year that a cop mistaken his/her taser for a gun and shot a person instead of tasing. Defunding the police will only result in more people like that. Second, the less money you put into the police, the worse kind of people will join - because really skilled and experienced people will join some place with better salary. More training, better personel and you are in for police force without racism and accidents.
I'd legalize basically everything other than murder, rape and theft.
And keep them posted at the ready like firefighters and EMTs waiting for an emergency. Not out on patrol looking for trouble.
That would put most of them out of a job though. With less money going to the salaries of traffic cops and meter maids you'll have more money and resources to train the guys capturing, restraining and possibly killing the actually dangerous and violent criminals.
Keep in mind I'm just a dumb kid and this is just an idea I've been playing with. They need to relax on the brutality. It's getting out of hand and people are dieing and getting hurt and it's just not okay. They need to enforce the law without being aggressive. I totally get if the suspect is dangerous and they need to protect themselves, that I understand, I applaud the police men out there putting their lives on the line for us everyday
No increasing funding. They have enough funding. Taxes are already too high.
There are no problems on the cop's side. You can't have a profession with 800,000 members that doesn't have a few bad practitioners. It's impossible. This is a fake narrative set up so that it can NEVER be achieved and as long as a single cop does something bad the left will use it as an excuse to riot, loot, assault, murder and bring down the country. It's BS. There are only a handful of unjustified shootings by cops every year even though they have MILLIONS of encounters with the public. And only a percentage of them is black people. The reason it is a disproportionate percentage black is because black people proportionately COMMIT MORE CRIMES so of course they have more encounters with cops. More encounters with cops means more chance something will go wrong. There is NO systemic racism. That's complete BULLSHIT.In depends.
In our current situation? I would abolish all police. I would then count on the black community to """culturally enrich""" our society in order to accelerate the collapse of the state and to further racial tension.
In the ideal society? I would have standard police armed with military tier weapons, as citizens would have access to many military tier weapons as well. I would also have a second branch of secret police in order to support both the local police and the federal government. This would be in a far right dictatorship. They should do more to inform citizens of how they operate, then said citizen would know what to expect if he/she breaks the law. Parents dont teach their kids about the criminal justice system anymore. America is in an accountability drought and nobody wants to be responsible for their actions
I wouldn't defund them after all... who you gonna call? I mean seriously without police this entire world would be worse than what it is right now. THE AMOUNT OF CHAOS! Also if it wasn't for the police I'd probably be either dead or killing people. I'm glad they helped and are around. God bless our wonderful law enforcement.
I'd be cool with paying them more and funding a four year degree for them (I would require a theater degree for good reasons - particularly because theater teaches one to control their emotions).
But we also don't need tanks strolling down neighborhood streets. And the scope of their job should be limited. Anything that gives a cop a reason to be angry shouldn't be part of their job.Not their funding but creating a publicly funded inquiry unit made up of criminal lawyers to look into cases of police misconduct and to examine bodycam footage etc for misconduct would go a long way towards fixing the accountability problem I think. Funding would have to be separate from law enforcements funding and they’d have to have teeth to impose fines, remove licenses etc in cases of obstruction of their investigations.
