b, add funding but not spend less on other stuff, just tax the rich the richest 10% bracket

c, add funding for police instead of other stuff so spend less on other stuff if so what area spend less? from government departments? which? from federal aid to other countries? or other budget cuts?

We don't need more police until the police we already have are better trained, held accountable through better rules and legislation, and have some serious overall quality control performed. No more buddy buddy, no more lying, no more long records of misbehavior while allowing them to keep their jobs.

They are the only government job where you can fudge up that badly and that often and keep your job. Everyone else is expected to do better than the average citizen or face charges and firing. An EMT doesn't get to attack a patient who "seems threatening", so why would anyone else be able to instead of having to control and de-escalate the problem like the rest of us are trained to?

I've seen so much bad police work that I can't stand most of them at this point. There are no practical checks and balances in the legal system, and America is supposed to always have checks and balances int he name of justice.

reminder ever heard of "internal affairs"? ever heard of ranks? you are describing a fictional world. upper ranks supervise lower ranks and internal affairs investigates stuff.

No, they really don't most of the time. Do you not read the news where officers have decades of reports against them from hundreds of people for breaking the law on the job and yet they still have their jobs? So much for "ranks and internal affairs investigations". Not to mention, they can shoot anyone and get away with it by federal law as long as they say they felt threatened. That's it. They never have to verify any actual threat.

I support local funding to law enforcement. I don’t want the feds involved at all given the politicization of the FBI and everything they touch.

Right now, I think the government needs to do more enforcing the law and less interference with free markets.

I imagine the government could probably use all the money that it can get. Our taxes in my country are already the highest, but it still seems like it could use more. So I'd go with option b. That just seems like the obvious choice.
