How can some leftist compromised judge like Cahill get to sentence Derek Chauvin?

The things he says, meanwhile he doesn’t seem to care that one of the jurors was literally a BLM activist. Chauvin was going to be screwed the entire time. And the fact that he added that time on just shows what Heck he is.

Firstly, Chauvin is a murderer duly convicted by a jury of all 12. He was not convicted by one Juror. He only needed one juror to dissent and there would have been a mistrial. But not one thought he was innocent. It has to be unanimous and it was. I saw all the videos. It is very obvious that Chauvin deliberately murdered Floyd. The jury so that and rendered the correct verdict. Cahill gave the correct sentence for this sort of crime. 22.5 years is a typical sentence for 2nd degree murder with aggravating circumstances. He was in fact very lenient with Chauvin as he could have sentenced him to the whole 30 years. Instead he took 25% off that sentence due to his lack of prior convictions. Chauvin will likely appeal the sentence. He has a 50/50 chance of getting the sentence commuted to 15 years throwing out the added on time for the aggravation. This due to the fact that aggravation is difficult to prove and is often subjective. With good behavior he could get out early though I'm not sure what the rules are for that in that state. In my state he could get out after 7.5 years. I'm guessing though it would be more like ten years due to the fact that his family will probably influence the parole board which is standard practice.

There is a process to the whole thing giving more power to the defense then the prosecutor.

Derek Chauvin lawyers have the power to reject any jury members that was summoned for no reason at all (other then race but supporters of blm is not a race) so the legal team defending derek had equal say in picking the jury. With all 12 voting peers of the plentiful giving benefit of the doubt guilty is justice. Half of the jury was picked by Derek's team. With all 12 arguing about it came to one conclusion there is little room to say.

Everyone knew he was going to be CONVICTED, in that "Kangaroo Court"!! Everyone KNEW, to PLACATE BLM, and not have MASS RIOTS, like in the early 1990's with Rodney King, they "sacrificed" him in a BIASED COURT, GUILTY, BEFORE TRIAL!

While the issue of Racism is SOUND, and REAL, making him a Martyr, and some Icon, of that, well, I question the rationality of those, that lead that change process. . .

The judge practically handed Chauvin a case for an appeal on a silver platter. He wasn't a good choice for the trial, sure, but even he knew there was BS involved.

There were actually at least two known BLM members on the jury, and at least one of them lied to get on that jury.

Again, set up for a relatively easy appeal process...

I think it comes down to the Attorneys, on both sides, to weed out the BIASED ones!!
I served on a jury, and after the case was resolved, the judge said, that since the case ended so early, he was willing to hear questions, and he just talked with some of us, about the legal system, and how, and why things work!
Really COOL kind of guy, reasonable, and answered all the questions well! I asked about my interest in Constitutional Law, and he had one of his assistants give me some contact information, for some other, that focused in that area, judges, and lawyers, and even court assistants. He encouraged me to pursue it, and see if I might really want to get a law degree, and focus on things like Civil Rights, and Constitutional Rights!

I'm not a fan of democracy or republic so likewise I am not favorable to a representative pool of peers determining things. I had considered being an attorney growing up as I am extremely disagreeable. I am glad that I didn't even though there are many non-politically charged areas if someone wanted to get into law.
