I am aware that some states practices segregation. But even then, most didn’t hate them.
So to me, saying you don’t hate a race doesn’t mean you are not racist. There is more to it and it’s not that simple.
Regardless of what the media wants to push or how often tech companies change definitions, racism is 1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others. 2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
So if you think the majority of Black Americans have a low IQ and are generally dipshits, you are not racist. That is opinion based on evidence. You are judging a group of people based on their merits and leaving open the option that certain individuals of that race will exceed the average expectation and excel based on their own merits. If you think the majority of Blacks in America are racist, that is also not racist considering 52% of Black Americans consider race extremely important, another 22% consider race very important, and 87% of Black Americans openly support the racist hate group Black Lives Matter. If you think White people are racist, that is in fact racist because you are judging an entire race’s character based on their race, not based on their individual merits. If you think someone has a lower IQ than you just because they are Black that is also racist even if the odds suggest it is very likely. You have a high chance of being correct, but you can’t be sure until it is proven. You can look at racial characteristics and talk about them without being racist. There are definable trends, but with the correct cultural improvements those trends can potentially change over generations. You just have to understand not everyone will fit the general trend. Some people break the mold. Hate isn't part of the definition to begin with. Why some people mistakenly place hate in the mix is because they feel hated and left out when someone else feels superior to them or discriminates against them over their race.
Lemme grab the definition of racist and racism
