Girls: Do you deliberately delay responding to a guy's texts?

Would you delay replying to texts to a guy you like? A girl I'm interested in and for awhile she has been slow to respond, over half an hour or more. For awhile I figured she was busy and didn't have her phone nearby all the time. But lat night I texted her and I noticed she updated her Facebook status, via her phone, a couple minutes later then she didn't respond till 40 minutes later! I guess that tells me she never was into me even though our convos are fun and flirty. But do you girls delay replying to a guy to are into and if so why?

I'm also slow to respond, anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour as I'm either busy or thinking of what to write and also not to seem eager as well.

I must admit I do that.. Mostly because I don't want to seem too eager. But in certain cases I've done it with the intention of replying in a few minutes and completely forgotten, and that turns to 30 minutes lol. Now the guys that I'm not really interested in usually get a response whenever which is sometimes super late. But if I'm interested it shouldn't happen very often. So if she's doing it a lot, I would say she likes you as a friend and has no interest in the way you want her to.

Sometimes I don't want to make it plain obvious that I like him (especially if I started the conversation), so I usually take about 5 minutes max to respond after a few really fast responses =)

But 40 minutes is a really long time! Even if you normally take about 20 minutes... I guess everyone has their own speed :)

But yeah, maybe she just didn't want to give away that she lked you. Does she initiate convos? That's a pretty big hint there lol

It doesn't mean she isn't in to you, it means she's "Playing the Game". Girls, just like guys, don't wanna seem to eager. Sometimes they delay responding to a text. I have done it. And I know my girlfriends have too. I've been in a group of girls when one gets a text and everyones like "Dont text him back yet! Just wait a bit!". It could actually mean she really likes you and doesn't want you to think she's clingy.

I do that because I want to seem like I have a life and not waiting around for him to text
