It’s so stupid, not all girls have the privilege of having a good father so why is the word daddy issues weaponized to make fun of women? Or how they’re going to have a bad life cause if not growing up with a dad because of stupid ass statistics.
Not only that but daddy issues makes it seem like single moms aren’t strong enough on their own to take care of their kids. Society will praise men for being single dads and say they’re strong/good guys but not the same for women? Than proceed to make fun of their children for something they had no control of.
Why do people make fun of girls for having “daddy issues”?
I don't think it's right to make fun of somebody with mental health issues, but blaming your circumstances for your mental health problems absolves you of any responsibility to work on them. It's a bit like a man complaining about the fact that he's toxic and in jail, by saying that "well society expects so much of me as a man, it just isn't fair that I can't regulate my emotions!" It doesn't matter what's going on around you. You have responsibility for yourself.
Having said that, "daddy issues" are usually not socially destructive or toxic, unless it messes up all of your relationships with other people.
That's true, but often people weaponize it to demean women (and men) with conditions like BPD or Histrionic PD. And often, dysfunctional relationships with abusive or absent caregivers can lead to these mental health problems that people are quick to label with pop psychological terms.

That's true too. I suppose it would depend on both our experiences as to how the terms are used but mommy issues definitely often gets attached to guys who have an attraction to older women. I suppose daddy issues can be applied the same way and I'm just ignorant of it because I'm not a younger woman.
I find it weird and crazy to label a girl or woman who likes older males to say they have daddy issues I guess I must have daughter issues cause I like younger girls or women I trust I'm not a weirdo and I really don't care if people think so I knew a girl who is age 24 and I'm age 53 well she liked me but the problem we live like way too far and I told her I think distance is a matter plus she has a son who is age 2 and has heart problems and would need a third heart surgery to make him well so I don't know what to think I live in Pennsylvania and she lives in California USA also my last girlfriend an ex was age 18 and I was age 35?

I agree with you. It's not at all the fault of the child that they had to grow up in an incomplete family. Nor is it, typically, the fault of the remaining parent. Sure, in certain cases poor decisions by the single parent are part of the equation- such as choosing to have a child in spite of not being financially or emotionally secure.
The reality is that a child does not actually need either a "father" or a "mother" figure growing up, that old-timey myth has long since been debunked by modern science.
The true issue lies in the fact that single parenthood simply does not provide a child with adequate amount of affection and attention due to the extra strain put on the parent, it's irrelevant if that parent is a man or a woman.
Usually it is the "heroic single-mothers" and their God-awful decision making that created daughters with "daddy issues".
These single mothers either chased Chad Thundercock, "accidentally" got pregnant (bullshit) and he bounced to the next chick. OR, she had a good man and just nagged, and nagged, berated, disrespected him, until he was finally driven away.

How is it valid to just make assumptions like this? My dad used to be a pastor, he was a really good guy at first but changed due to porn addiction and left my mom. Cheated on my mom multiple times but my mom still tried to make it work so I could have a father. Most fathers aren’t the sunshine and rainbows you think they are, they just don’t want to be responsible for the same damn children they helped make.

I literally said that previously he was a pastor, my mom believed he was a good person but he changed back into old habits. My mom did everything to try and make the relationship work, it was my dad that didn’t change and he’s a grown man so my moms not responsible for that.

Regarding the term itself, it's not really a big issue if you think about it. Some people have feckless/bad fathers, it's not something they had any control over. Plenty of people turn out OK despite having no or just one good parent.

Women with daddy issues tend to have bad attitudes toward men and are far more likely to have relationship problems, which is why it is a negative term.
It's true that not all girls have the privilege of having a good father, and there are a lot of reasons for that. But it doesn't change the fact that women with daddy issues exist and tend to make less than ideal partners for men. That's the bottom line.

The patriarchy isn’t a theory, America’s never had a female president. Majority of the 46 presidents have been majority straight white men. Same goes for Congress, we have little to no women being represented. That’s what you call patriarchy; a system of society or government in which men hold the power and women are largely excluded from it.
Lastly, a woman’s only value isn’t defined by what she brings to the table to a male in a relationship.
I’m concerned about why people make fun of girls for not having fathers because society tries to push the false narrative that having a dad in the house automatically means he’s amazing or something. Even though abusive fathers exist, if your husbands toxic society shouldn’t place blame on women for wanting to escape abusive spouses.
Lastly, the reason why women with father issues tend to have a bad relationship can be because of maybe them having a bad representation when they we’re younger if how relationships should be like, because if that they tend to find themselves in very abusive relationships more often. This is stuff that therapy can help with, there’s no inherent problem with women with daddy issues. The only problem is the bad fathers that gave them “daddy issues” in the first place.

Many women with daddy issues had shitty or absent fathers, but many are that way because ther mothers had bad attitudes toward men. It's a two way street.

Honestly no idea. It’s never the daughters fault that their father abandoned them or died or whatever. It’s so dumb that people nowadays use sayings like “fatherless activities” or “lol you don’t have a dad” as an insult.
Having a good dad has a huge impact on a girl's life. But not only men who "run out" should get the blame. The mothers are the idiots who choose to get pregnant with the bad guys. There are so many imbeciles who still think that having only your mother is totally fine. Girls who don't grow up with a father lose their virginity quicker and are more promiscuous.
That’s a very black and white way of viewing things, I know many people with very good moms that had husbands that ended up changing and that’s what led to divorce. Young girls aren’t the problem, it’s the dads fault. Even if the dad has a problem with the mom he should take responsibility for the child he helped create.
The promiscuous behavior is because of lacking a father figure, so later in life they’re more likely to getting into abusive relationships. This is much less common if the father just did what he was supposed to do in the first place and be a good father

The number of single parenthood is rising and its unfortunate. It has been proven that fathers significantly increases the chances offspring living the lives they wanted.
The daddy issues is probably the same reason men are also made fun of for mommy issues, just to dismiss their behavioral issues.
I've never made fun of girls who have daddy issues, because its not their fault they were abandoned. My father abandoned me and my sister, so I can partially relate to what you are talking about.

I fail to see how its mens fault or the lack of a father if a girl is attracted to older guys. Why people make fun of it is because people are stupid. No matter who you are attracted to someone would probably find a reason to make fun of you.

Yea... it was a young girl 17-18years old. She tried to seduce.. take my farther from a family... just before i was born. He was well known, respected man-holding responsibility for hundreds of people in that town.. Real Old school! with strong mind, values and virtues. Real warrior, leader-strong family supported provider, soldier... All girls would adore to have him by side, cause in that time it would promise clear future-safety, security and all that comes as package- freedom to choose how to live! and my farther was in his 30s!
