Because thats the popular comeback women use to hurt your feelings when you tell them they have responsibilities to themselves and their future husbands or current husband. In the 90s and early 2000s the popular comeback for men was " You must be gay", shaming the man as if to say you have no chance with her sexually. Responsibility and accountability is a woman's kryptonite, hence the normalization of shaming men that expect them to be virtuous
