Is it illegal to share a recipe from my previous job that I worked at?

My boss asked me for my old job drink recipe. Is it illegal if I share it. They’re both drink stores. Will I get punished?

Recommendation: I wouldn't. There may be copyright issues if you give away their information.

I used to deliver pizza (eons ago when people lived in caves). I distinctly recall when I filled out the employment forms reading something about my not giving away their recepies and anything else how they made their pizza.

I would check with your previous store first before offering any info on how they made their drinks. Food places get real particular about stuff like that.

Quite possibly.
Have you signed any kind of non-disclosure agreement? This would prevent exactly that kind of behavior.
Is the drink something that is specific to your old job? Is it something that could be reasonably thought of as proprietary information? Then maybe, if the old job finds out and decides to pursue it.

I’m not sure how that would work on a legal scale, but I wouldn’t want to find out either so I’d advise you not share it. The last thing you want is to somehow get caught in the middle or the blame be put on you.

If it's written down, there may be copyright issues if you use it verbatim in a written format. But if you remember how to make it from memory and teach the new job how to make it, you're fine.
