I tried being open minded around them in the past but it never worked. Progressives and liberals usually like to bring their attitude and attack you on some of the things you say. I already have some family members who are like this and I don’t need friends like that too.

I try to surround myself with positive influences, and after unfriending some liberals I felt a lot better mentally. Something I find interesting is that liberals tend to complain a lot about things that are not a problem. Conservatives on the other hand tend to pay attention to the good things in life and focus on that instead of complaining about things for no reason. I definitely felt a lot more at peace surrounded with conservatives rather than liberals. This is all my observations and my opinion by the way and may not be 100% true for all people.

Mostly just work friends, or friends of friends. Liberals are just so fun to fuck with, because they lack any sense of logic.

Like if a liberal mentions reparations and ask me what I think about it...
I'll say "it's a good thing, and I think the slaves should get it."
They usually have this look:

i have a fee liberal and leftist friends we disagree majorly on politics but have fun growing weed, playing poker, playing magic the gathering. someone have have told me there goinf to teach me D&D im pretty right leaning myself i would go as far as saying that we need to go back to the articles of confederation and get 100% agreements in the federal government before they can do anything

I'm friends with both liberals & conservatives, because I can respect that people have their own individual beliefs.

I just ask that they also respect that I don't want to hear about it.

I’m friends with democrats, but not progressive liberals. Being Christian, we literally just have nothing in common. I also don’t feel comfortable bringing someone who possesses modern cultural values into my family’s world. I don’t put anyone down, but I do practice rational discernment.

I’ve actually seen this exact thing on the right. When I disagree with a leftist ideology some of them are disrespectful but most of them just want a healthy debate but when I disagree with a rightist ideology most times I’m immediately attacked and having my words taken out of context or completely lying about what I said

Birds attack. As in, those with smaller heads. They cannot grasp the logic but can flap their wings and use their beaks.
It just is like that. No point in arguing with those who don't have the capacity to understand you (and who typically believe in bullying, beheading included)

Very few. We severed connections during the 2016 election and I don't miss any of them. I still have some family that are liberals but almost no friends
