Do you consider yourself (or your opinions, to be) a liberal Or conservative?
1 yI'm a Classical Liberal. I'm not a Social Liberal (Socialist). The pejorative "Liberal" that gets tossed around in America refers to Socialists not Liberals. It arose in 1971 during the height of the Cold War to attack American ideals. So take that for what it is. Classical liberalism was the political philosophy of the Founding Fathers. It permeates the Constitution, the Federalist Papers and many other documents produced by the people who created the American system of government. The two ideologies are polar opposite. Liberalism and Socialism are mortal enemies, but socialists thought it would be cute to call themselves "Social Liberals" to attack Liberalism in America so that Liberalism would be rejected being that it is the core doctrine of the country. The carry out these silent wars over 3 generations typically. Generation 1 was Generation X, Generation 2 is generation X's children Generation Z (Zoomers), and Generation 3 is Generation Beta where they hoped to collapse America in 2030 under the Beta male empire in the name of "Liberalism" as they go against everything Liberalism stands for.

This is why you had the gay rights movement, feminism, and black panthers in the 1970-1980s, then it reemerged in the 2010-2020s as LGBTQ+, MeToo, BLM and so on... They have to capture successive generations so that the current socialists on the streets have support from their parrents and grandparents. They stack the ideology and indoctrinate the children.

In the poll I voted conservative since thats the short version of it.
The long story is that I am a liberal who knows what that word actually means and refuses to surrender the term to the socialists. I care about free speech, gun rights, individual liberty, etc. So I am a liberal because I care about liberty. Doesn't mean I like any of the lefts ideas, since they tend to be anti-liberty. So policy wise I agree with the modern conservatives since they are trying to conserve liberty, philosophy wise I consider them liberals to and I consider the leftists just leftist.10 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)1 yThey always say to not discuss politics at the dinner table but here it is 😛 I do not consider myself to be a liberal and I am a conservative. But I don't belittle people who have differing opinions and I would also expect the same in return. I don't believe things should be as heavily censored as they have been for the last couple of years. Every social media platform very biasedly supports liberals and anyone who says otherwise is shot down, ridiculed and cursed out. Just because there are far more liberals doesn't mean any other political view should be dismissed.
What happened to open discussions and being reasonable? Any time I've admitted to being a conservative, people jump down my throat that I must be a racist, homophobic or deeply flawed individual. That is not the case. But just because liberals are accepted with open arms doesn't mean the rest of us have to be silenced or shunned. It's a shame that our "free country" is only free when our political views align with what the rest of the media demands. That's my perspective

1 yNeither, since liberals and conservatives are both on the same end of the spectrum here in Denmark and I'm on the opposite. I don't want my work field to become more underfunded.

Anonymous(36-45)1 yThe world is overwhelmingly conservative, so I'm automatically a liberal based on global standards. For US standards, I'd get called a conservative, but I'm personally along the lines of old school liberals. Individual liberty is priority, economic liberty is priority until that interferes with other economic liberty (like monopolies) or individual liberty (like companies controlling our lives).
As far as personal life decisions go, consenting adults should do whatever they want unless it directly harms an unconsenting adult or any child. If you want to shoot heroin, get gender reassignment surgery, and own machine guns, go for it. Just don't make me pay for it and don't make me look at it.
10 ReplyI'm a Critical thinker, or I try my best to be. Don't 100% align with a party. I've voted liberal, I've voted green, I've voted orange, and now I vote conservative.
Politics is literally betting. You put your bet where your beliefs are, and that includes where you believe the change will be the highest net positive according to the present reality.
Im Canadian. Looking at US politics I was surprised to realize how I was against Trump in 2016, and now I agree with a lot of what he's proposing. His party makes the most sense right now.
I didn't look into environmental policy...
But at the end of the day, when you vote you need to think about the children, is what I believe... Will my vote make their lives more livable or will it not.
00 ReplyI would like to.
But with the way liberalism is today I could never associate with it
That being said Im not a typical conservative either
When it comes to personal freedom and choices and non conformity to a some outdated ideal, Iโm a liberal thinker
But as far as economic and social politics go I definitely prefer the conservative approach
No matter how broken capitalism is it remains a million times better than socialism10 Reply- 399 opinions shared on Trending & News topic.

@DrPepper12 the American democratic party is very much right wing compared to other countries. Kamala is like the center of the right side sliiiigtly down to libertarian, Trump is obviously very right almost as right as you can get and just as close to authoritarian

Yup. They don't know what "radical leftists" are.
Asker1 y@DrPepper12 but the question was "consider yourself"?
- 1 y
Yes i said what i said because if I just said I'm center left some right wingers would comment trying to argue with me๐
If I had to say I was anything it would be a Class Old School Liberal
