Are you really a Liberal?

I'm a left-leaning populist and somewhat of a nationalist.
Agree with a lot of the above, but abortion when there is a heartbeat is murder.
I don't like a lot of American liberals and I don't identify as liberal because a lot of liberals (not saying all) are for Cancel Culture, certain types of censorship, hardline feminism and other things I do not agree with.
American liberals are also often obsessive about race to a degree I find odd, because they fire empty accusations of racism and sexism at people or things when they do not apply.
I do not like Affirmative Action based on race or gender. I think lower class, struggling Americans and people in general should be given a hand UP, not a hand OUT.
Some more radical libs also border on anti-capitalism, which I do not like. I believe in FDR or Nordic Style Social Democracy: Capitalism at the core/base, with a strong social safety net and sustainable social programs for poor people who are willing to put the work in and then give back when they do better.
I may go into more detail later, but for now that is enough. Basically, I am to the right of liberals on a few things, and to the left of liberals on others.
Also, a lot of libtards are just really annoying. But so are some conservatards.
I do not like the DemocRAT or GOPper parties. Actually, I HATE them. I think they hurt America.
I like what George Washington said about being cautious of political parties.
I'm libertarian when it comes to most substance use. However, I am strongly for harm reduction practices, regulation/standardization, accurate education on risks of substances, and users are 21+.
Also libertarian on people's bodies, but I extend that consideration to the unborn child.
I agree that it starts out as just a bundle of cells. Zygote or whatnot. I forgot the exact terminology.
But when there is a heartbeat, it is a life. Fetuses also develop the ability to hear and feel pain. To me it is quite simple (in most cases).
That's why I am for prevention of abortion through subsidized birth control and mandatory sex ed, and I want more research done into birth control options for men.
Women have several, but all men have are condoms (they break - I've been there) and vasectomy. I plan on getting one. I don't want kids.
I've heard of promising prototypes for other male birth control options, but I want said prototypes to hit the mainstream and be as affordable as possible.
The less abortion, the better. In most cases, it is beyond immoral.
@OddBeMe I am giving sentient life respect it deserves. Sentient HUMAN life, at that!
I am pro-life from first heartbeat to the last.
"Rights" are largely a man-made legal concept. I am talking about honoring life. All life, and in this case human life.
This is why I do not like modern libs.
Tell what you said to the women who get abortions after the unborn has a heartbeat, instead of trying to lecture me, who actually respects life.
Why is it these same liberal pro-choice women are often moved to tears when they get knocked up with a baby they DO actually want, and hear the heartbeat sonogram for the first time of their unborn baby?
But magically, when she doesn't want said unborn being, the heartbeat suddenly doesn't matter one iota? Talk about liberal double-think and double standards!
Just like you said, barring extenuating circumstances,
"No one has rights over someone else’s body. Period."
The unborn fetus is not immaterial. It has a physical BODY that has not yet fully formed!
It's really freaking simple.
You are changing the topic to be about women's or "rights" in general, because you KNOW deep down that what your are arguing is largely indefensible.
People once had the "right" legally to lynch, enslave and discriminate against certain blacks.
Did that make it right?
You tell me! Lmfao.
Let's talk about "rights" in that context, and then maybe you'll understand that "rights" in the end don't mean shit IF they are not backed by upstanding morals, decency, and civility!
Barbarity is not a legitimate "right." Legal or not. Period.
Not rocket science.
Let's me translate this all for you.
"I should be the arbiter of value and living wage." for green and pink.
"No kid should ever be worried about lightning strikes! So give me all your metal!" for light blue. Lightning strikes are actually more common and lethal and more feared by kids.
"People don't have a right for self-determination!" for dark blue. Basically all chronic homelessness are just a consequence of mental health problems. They shouldn't be abandoned, but sticking them in a home does nothing.
Equal pay is already a right and a functional right. And I agree that everyone should have equal right under the law, you don't agree with that though.
"Government should not regulate medicine when it comes to women and therefore no doctor should ever be liable for medical mal practice when it comes to women." for lime.
Red is beautiful in theory, but unenforceable. One day we will figure that out.
Brown is basically "slavery good".
Grey is "I should have a right to indoctrinate everyone with useless degrees. Also, the whole world should be enslaved to my overpaid activists."
Nope, you think they don't have a right to self-determination. They want to be in the streets, they want to wallow in their misery and want to cope the way they cope.
(and there may be a reason for that, some times it works.)
Specially for veterans, who are frequently just living the way they were leaving while deployed and keeping a safe emotional distance from everyone.
And OddBeMe proves his namesake once again, you are a Libertarian? GTFO! About as libtarded as they get.
Wait. I've seen this before. A Ron Paul voter, yes we know, he did not run. A Ron Paul voter told me he wasn't for Biden and he despises Trump. Yet 1000% of his views are lefty libtardism. Just like you. I do not understand it. You are not Libertarian. You are lefty hollyweird Stephen Colbert garbage.
I am no liberal but I agree with some of that, not all. I just don't like how liberals try to go about doing that stuff. They seem to want to do it the wrong way all the time.
Many things, even though I don't think they should happen. I don't think it is the governments job to fix the problem.
Ha, I accidentally voted "A!" But, shocking, of course I'm for these things! Only a person with a cramped soul who doesn't care about his country wouldn't.

these days "liberal" just means "not interested in becoming an authoritarian state," and people still freak out about it. Right wing infotainment has tried for decades to make it a "dirty word," and I guess they succeeded.
All these sound great but can you really expect a lot of this stuff to work well in a country of over 300M people, who already pay an insane amount of taxes that don't cover all of this?
Or if the state wasn't funding the crony corporations.
A lot of this is anti-authoritarian, pro-welfare & anti-corruption. I am for all 3.
Besides the "free stuff" this is just libertarian thoughts. Liberals should be for small government & for the people.
Liberal in the U. S. - and liberal elsewhere obviously does not mean the same.
Let's keep it like that, so I can feel better being liberal myself.
People have a lot more in common than we believe. It's just: everyone focusses on our differences :D
You know me man I’m not liberal in today’s day and age, I’m classically liberal like the founders but I disagree with neo liberals
If you believe in freedom. You're a conservative ☺.
I didn't. I played along and outsmarted you 😛
Yes, but nothing like you nor like many of the modern American ones.
I don't believe with all of those. But nitpicking to prove you're one way or the other proves something is wrong with your side.
I believe all of that... so?
