Oh… and the human zoos.

That's kinda sad.
I'm extremely proud of mine.
My ethnicities are as follows:
-Mostly German: My family was directly involved in the Holocaust and many of my direct relatives before mein mutter were SS, Hitler Youth or something of the kind and mein mutter was East German before immigrating in 1984 at the height of Communism and the Berlin Division. I'm easily in touch with my German roots the most and consider it my first language despite being anglo-Canadian.
-British: My father's side is predominantly British. My surname is also British.
-French: My father's side is also quite French Quebecois and I am fluent in Franco-Canadian dialect.
-Latvian: My Latvian ancestry comes from mein mutter and includes Jewish blood. I speak some Latvian and mein urgßmutter was a world-class pianist, which has passed onto generations into me.
-Scottish: The Norse (Scandinavians), Anglo-Saxons, Gallics and Celts actually all derive their ancestral roots back to Germanic origins and actually even the Romans have old-Germanic gothic roots and the Celts had massive contact with the Gallics and Anglo-Saxons especially. Thus, while it's not a huge part of my ancestry and I'm not particularly concerned with it a whole lot, there is Celtic blood running somewhere through my veins and my ancestry does come from Scottish Highlanders at some point back. Most of the runic symbols tattooed across my body are also of Celtic origin, many of which they also shared with the Norse Scandinavians.
-Danish: According to my paternal Grandmother, at some point back (her grandmother I think), there is Danish blood in my veins.
-Hungarian: Mein urgoßmutter was part Jewish Hungarian ontop of being born in Riga, Latvia. As a result of German occupation during WWII.
I am extremely proud. My ancestors conquered countless races, destroyed and assimilated countless cultures. On one hand, it demonstrates their power. On the other hand, it shows how barbaric and horrific they were. 11 million innocent people were slaughtered as a direct result of mein Germanic side, which I am particularly closely tied to. When I met mein Onkel Hans as a boy, he was still talking about how the Jews killed all his friends 6 decades after the war ended (he was Hitler Youth) and he left me his knife when he died. They were monsters and their violence resonated throughout history into the modern era. Without it we wouldn't have the relative peace we have now and without the ocean of blood shed we wouldn't know the true value of Human life. I was so horrified by those stories and learning what we were responsible for as a boy that I learned Mandarin, Russian, Ojibwe and ASL specifically because I'm fascinated with other cultures and understanding others to make peace is our responsibility rather than continue the same mistakes and shed more blood.
You're ancestors may have been bloodthirsty horrific conquerors... but they got you here. You are not the sum of their actions but you can make their mistakes worth something: Don't repeat them.
Yeah those evil white devils who enslaved people. .. . . . . for a couple hundred years vs. being enslaved for thousands of years by every one else. But I mean, white people definitily invented slavery. . . . except for the fact that it predates the written word and existed in every place humans existed and was practiced to a far greater degree but literally every single group of humans and race of humans compared to whites.
If you hate whites and your self so much, sterilize yourself, its the only moral thing to do.
As for me, no I don't take pride in my skin color because it has no baring on who I am as a person. I'm not entitled to the sins of other white people who enslaved others any more then I'm entitled to the accolades of the white people who ended slavery and forced those poor ethnic groups like native americans and Africans, to end slavery.
But I will say that, if I have to bear the burden of the atrocities of a given race, I'll gladly choose the burden of whites over any other because we where fucking saints in comparison to most groups.
As for your last update, its true you definitley want to forget history because its inconvient for your narrative of racism and bigotry, but not all of us are as willing to ignore the past as you are.
I don’t really care. It doesn’t matter to me, I’m me and I’m proud of that. I’m not responsible for what people from my race did or didn’t do, I can only take responsibility for my own actions and I think that’s what everyone should be doing. Be responsible for yourself and your own actions, that’s how the world can become “a better place”. With people owning up to THEIR OWN shit instead of pointing fingers and guilting someone for something they personally didn’t do.
My race is not something I achieved, it just happens to be what I was born with. I am proud to be me. Proud of the things I have achieved. With that said, I am not ashamed of my race either. No person is responsible for the actions of another, and I won't feel shame or responsibility for anything done by some people who just happen to have a similar skin tone.

I'm assuming you are white. Let me ask you a question. Did you do any of the cruel things that you aren't proud of? How about your parents? Maybe your grandparents were slavers? I didn't think so. Why in the world would you be ashamed of something nobody you will ever meet had anything to do with what you mentioned. It's a new world and we have enough people from other races blaming us for shit we didn't do. They are the same people that are using it to get special treatment but nobody opens their eyes to the bigger picture. It's 2021 and for equality neither white or black, yellow or brown should have any laws any different than the others. As long as people need special treatment for their race for whatever reason there will be racism. I'm sorry that you are holding the guilt of your gradfathers, grandfather's, grandfather because it makes about as much sense walking upstairs to get to the basement. Just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions
I have nothing against any race, color, or even where we are from. In the USA, unless your heritage goes back to an American Indians, we are all emigrate from one place or another. My third great grandfather brought my family from Germany to the USA in 1832. Just because you have not researched your family tree to know you from does not give you the right to complain about some crossing a border somewhere because your parents, grand or great great grandparents, and so on you came across at one time or another. We are a country made of emigrates.
C: My skin colour does not define me or my happiness, and I've been lucky enough to not experience racism as a result of it myself so I don't see the point of being "proud" of a skin colour, same as I do not celebrate my eye colour, gender, hair colour etc.
You might be the most self-hating white person I've ever encountered.
Maybe you should ask members other races if they're ashamed of the historical misdeeds of other members of their race. I'd bet none of them are, although they've all had slaves or committed other atrocities.
You should only feel shame for your own actions.
Even if one believes that there is some societal debt owed, it seems to have been paid off by now.
And even if someone thinks it hasn't, it makes sense to focus on some help for the poor of ALL races. Those who aren't poor don't need it and we already have a problem with people who don't need money grifting it.
But, fundamentally, the problem with your thinking is that it ignores that all races have committed atrocities and it plays into the hands of those who want to oppress whites and seize their property.
You really can’t see the racism inherent in those low expectations/belief in lack of agency?
Can you see the domino effects of the rise in rates if out-of-wedlock births, crime rates beginning in the 1950s, rises in immigration rates beginning in the 1960s, declines in land ownership, and falling rates of homeownership in the past 15-20 years?
One of my grandfathers was a slave 76 years ago. Do you see me guilting anyone over it and blaming it? Slavery ended 156 years ago.
And, FYI, your average white person probably has had ancestors in the US for much less time than your average black person. And those ancestors often worked lousy, low-paid jobs when they came to the US.
You seem awfully pampered and sheltered. I've never seen someone as clueless as you.
Plenty of whites have never had much of a chance, either, mostly rural whites. Are you aware of what life was like and is like for them as well? Ever heard of WEB DuBois' "Talented Tenth"?
That's why I support helping people based on their situation rather than their race.
Race ain't a thing. I'm proud of standing in the shoulders of giants.
Including turing who paid 17yo's to such their dicks despite being arguably one of the smartest and most successful man of britain.
Or currie, despite her poor treatment of interns.
Or ramanujan, despite his batshit crazy religious fundamentalism.
You on the other hand just rather rewrite history like the nazis hoping that if you win it will stick, it doesn't, by the way, it never stuck.
And I'm proud to stand in the shoulders of britain and their crusade to end slavery across the world. And that as a brazilian, they blocaded our ports.
So I should be proud of something I had zero control over? Also last I checked none of us asked to be born. We are born simply due to a number of circumstances and the results of a genetic lottery. Heck if a different sperm made it to the egg first none of us would be here now. The same can be said about every human that has ever walked the earth.
The only thing I'm proud of is who I am as individual. Because that's the only thing I have direct control over.
"I’m not. We’ve enslaved, pilloried and even today imprison other races for menial crimes.
Oh… and the human zoos."
This goes for pretty much every race and ethnicity ever. I do believe that being proud of popping out of a vagina the way you did is dumb, but so is being ashamed of it. Collectivism is shit.
Definitely.
I'd say it is more proud of my culture.
Lots of countries and cultures have had dark moments via history but people are insane now totally obsessing about ONLY bad parts from history. They act as if our culture is forever worthless and hasn't brought immense blessing to the world.
I am definitely proud of my culture.
I am everyone should be. Each culture has beauty in it. I'd be proud is I was anything
Literally every race has enslaved another and even themselves. If we go by that logic then no one should be "proud of their race".
We should say that no one is a monster just by the color of their skin if we want to progress as a species.
I don't know how I would know the differences of an individual's life from another individual, especially if they are from different generations.
Maybe you should be asking LBJ how his "war on poverty" is going. Wasn't that supposed to help impoverished people get back on their feet especially those under racist policies that have just recently been outlawed at the time? It's been 57 years since it came into effect and if it was even a little bit effective, we should be seeing poverty at an all time low but if anything it stayed the same or got worse.
You appear to want to be self flagellatory on behalf of long dead generations of your culture. A culture that presumably is dominated by a race you identify with. It's not a bad thing to accept the wrongs of the past but I hope you can also see the good that they presumably did also.
That is like saying don't be proud of black people because a lot of black people have committed crimes. We had nothing to do with slavery. The country my ancestors are from certainly didn't enslave blacks but I am white so why should I feel guilty? Black people are cool with me and I am cool with them.
But I would hope you are proud of your culture. Be it Italian-American, "White" American, Candian or whatever.
Everyone has a group identity.
Everyone should be proud of that group that gives them their identity.
#1 The arabs outdid whites in the slave trade.
#2 Race is a collection of arbitrary phenotypes given name by humanity over arbitrary reasons. To take pride in that would be illogical.
No one should be proud of there race. It should mean nothing. Not bad, not good. Just neutral and equal.
That's as dumb as being "proud" of your height. You had no input in the matter, kiddo. Stop flattering yourself.
Oh that's what your family did? Well that explains why you're so fucked up.
To be honest White Guilt isn't my thing. I've always lived in a relatively "liberal" and inclusive society. I don't obsess over race and crimes of the past.
I am proud we have done bad but a lot of good every race has rape pillaged and enslaved
I'm not.
I feel ashamed of being white.
I think white people should be m*rdered and starting with idi*ts like @oddbeme.
I'm proud to be from another planet !! :-D
Lmao. The self-hatred is strong with this one.
I am and I won't apologize for it neither. 🤷♂️
It's my heritage and origin. It's a form of identity.
Everything.
I am not. I come from an inferior race
Race is nothing to be proud of
