In my exeprience & observations, people only value you if they respect you. So if you're a doormat type who gives & gives no matter how others treat you they won't value you. They will feel entitled to what you have. On the other hand if you had some set rule/conditions and limits on things it's more likely they would treat you with respect -- which is, I'd say, what being valued means.

And there are people who can be nice to others but will treat you like a doormat if you give too freely. I wrote a MyTake related to this: Don't Be a Sucker

That depends on the individuals reacting to them. Hopefully, the people that value the truly-nice people outnumber the others, but that depends on location & social-circle.

I don't think so. I was a nice person but I never got any fruits of it. I never expected anything in return but after everything bad that happens around you kinda loose faith. That's what happened with me.
Now I'm still nice to everyone but only to a certain extent. If people start bothering me I simply cut contacts with them.
I need to be around positive and appreciative people.

If you are nice but without self worth or boundaries, then you will likely primarily be liked for the benefits you bring.
If you are a kind person but have firm boundaries and people understand where the boundaries are, then others will see that you value yourself and they will value you in return.

They're mostly seen as weak and someone to be used an abused sadly, and rarely valued as they deserve, but, the kind person should never change, but they should make sure they're not being a pushover either, or being used an abused, taken advantage of. You can be kind but also have to have boundaries, an stand up for yourself, and be firm on how you expect to be treated.

Of course they are valued for what they are. Don't compare yourself with some imaginary "standards" of cruelty. Always ponder into yourself to understand true meanings. Don't turn into a cynic. "You are the salt of the Earth, but if salt loses it's flavour, what will make it salty again?"

People these days only value you for what you bring. In dating women want a a man that brings home money. In jobs well quit the minute we find better. In friendships we’ll drop on friends for a new one.

Look at rates of divorce. Unemployed. Homeless. Single.

I'd say no, unless you are jesus christ, MLK, or a well known actor, or beautiful... I feel like the hall mark of being vauled is always some level of superficial criteria (wealth and/or beauty) otherwise you need to do something extremely selfless and damn near be a martyr to be valued, let alone appreciated.

Not saying no one every will value you or another person because they are nice but it may inspire them to be nicer in kind and spread the random acts of kindness but eh!
