At what age are people considered part of the “older population “ ?

In my opinion , it should be the age when white hairs start forming , wrinkles start appearing , and eye sight beginning to dwindle, your body getting noticeably weaker. All of these start in 40s

My eyesight was terrible when I was a child, before second grade. I've had grey hairs since I was 16. I still don't have 70 year old's wrinkles. If not for arthritis, I would be as strong as I was at 30.

There's that age assumption raising its ugly head again. I'm 76, I'm a combat veteran with combat skills, a martial arts black belt as well. That 30 years old, if bent on doing me harm, really needs to think twice about it, or have similar skills.

Your bones calcifies as you age which makes them rigid and inflexible. This will happen regardless of how much you exercise. Your muscles will atrophy too.

Let’s take another 30 yr old man with combat and martial skills and Let’s see how you fare. You’re not a 30 yr old man. You are one just in your imagination.

No, I'm no longer 30. But I take Calcium for my aging bones, I exercise to help maintain muscle tension and I try to eat right. My mind is as clear now as when I was 30. Yeah, someone with my training probably could kick my ass. I guarantee he or she will end up needing physical therapy after.

Calcium is what causes your bones to stiffen harden which is what causes inflexibility. Your Muscles will atrophy and weaken regardless of how much you exercise. You can slow aging down but it will still age regardless. Muscles tend to start atrophying around 40

I am studying to become a nurse. It’s funny how you’re implying that I should know nothing at 25. Reality is That there are folks as young as 22 who have already graduated from college And working as nurses

Your eyesight starts dwindling the moment you are born, but that's complicated to explain. Wrinkles aren't all that bad for some people. Take a look at Barbara Eden who just turned 90...

Actually, no. Your eyesight is constantly deteriorating due to lens growth. The "near point" - the closest point to you that you can see clearly gradually moves further and further away as you age because your lens has gotten thicker and so it can't bend so easily which is necessary to bend light close to you onto your retina. So, the ability to see clearly is always becoming more difficult as you age. It isn't until you are 40ish that you begin to notice that you can't see things clearly that are reasonably close. This is called Presbyopia. But the cause of presbyopia - lens growth - starts when you are born...

People usually can see perfectly fine until 40s. 40s is when aging takes a very noticeable downturn due to aging.

Same for Skin aging. You age since the day you are born. But wrinkles do not appear until 40s.

Roughly 40 is when you begin to notice presbyopia symptoms, but it starts when you are born.
